Rotating a Sega framed monitor can be easier.
Yeah, framed monitors with a chassis fixed are much safer, and it doesn't really take that much longer by the time you've faffed with nuts and bezels.

It's ironic that the E2's rotate system made that tangling possible. Easily done. You'd think it's safe to do (it usually is) and the movement has so much weight behind it that it's necked as soon as you feel any resistance.

A couple of months at work back I smashed a industrial open frame 32" lcd touch just caught the corner & as it has safety glass for the touch screen it popped:

When the replacement was sent I was extra careful

Thought about listing it on here but too many concerns (mostly around what price & trying to make it "fair" as I guess there will be a few who want it) so Ill leave it to the market to decide. Starting price is just above what my Blast went for (but that didn't have stools or the all-important ashtray).

Good quick sale either way and it's an isolated cab sale in UK Brexit really skews the market in Europe a bit as it makes it very difficult for private sales between markets someone here is offering 4k , the one on AP looks to have Sold for somewhere near 6.5k$

Incredible to see the sales going through over on AP at those prices. To think I was nervous back in the day dropping up to 1,000 euro importing candies to Ireland. And they're all a decade and a half older now then when I was dropping that kind of money on them.

$6.5k is just tempting the 'magic smoke' gods when you first power it on!

Maybe if you ask nicely ;)

Full disclosure: listing on eBay was part-market research. I sold my Blast on there after getting little to no interest on here, and I genuinely felt that listing here first might lead to upset if it sold to a new member who happened to be logged on at the right time and saw the listing, as opposed to one of the more senior members who have wanted an E2 for ages (for example).

I deliberately didn't add pics on eBay to start with, as I wanted to gauge interest. Of the 31 watchers (as at yesterday) only 2 bothered to ask for pics, which tells me most of the watchers were not interested in buying it (no shame in being a voyeur). I had a firm offer, via eBay, which I am considering, and there is one other person interested who wants to come and take a look, so I felt it made sense to remove the auction and discuss offline.

I think most were waiting on the outcome of the broken one & then maybe double it +£500-1000.

I can see your point about nobody saying anything people only want what they can't have.

Should’ve let it run
With eBay there tend to be a lot of last second bids
The other egret jumped a lot in the last hour

Hi lads, I got the Egret 2 with the necked tube, also got the VF3 cab they were selling. We were initally outbid on the Egret but they got in touch a few days later saying the buyer had backed out. So my bro hired a Luton and went to go grab em both. Seller was an elderly gent who needed them gone as his son was storing them in his garage but they were selling the house now. Had been there for a loooooong time he said. They're both fixed up now, still some minor cosmetics to do but then they'll be going into our little arcade in Exeter so they shall see plenty of use!

Thought I'd let you know!

Haha thanks! I will pop up again in approximately 11 years when I get a broke Jaleco Pony off ebay for cheaps :P

Honestly I was expecting it to go higher, 1400 was pretty much our max bid. The cabinet is in good clean condition. The tube was very necked but we popped a spare Tosh tube in it from an old Sega Rally, it has a bit of burn which is noticable in games if you look for it but we can do some tube juggling between cabs at a later date to get a better one in there.

You don't really notice the burn at all if you're playing Bubble Bobble though!

I’m welling up here like I’m watching one of those TV shows where a neglected dog finally finds its perfect home. 😢

Got the VF cab up and running now. Needs a good tidy up but it plays GREAT. Nice bright burn free hitachi tube in there which might go in the Egret too. Never saw an actual VF3 cab in the wild back in the day. Kinda looks like someone at sega UK was shown a blurry fax image of a Blast and had a go at making their own.

The Last Blade

Post by ChrisBEANS »

Is this one of you guys?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305545949942 ... media=COPY

Seems an absolute bargain!

I did think it might be a convert due to the stickers, but MVS Scans reassures me it’s legit.

I have one, but this is a steal if anyone is looking? Aesthetically, one of the very best on the MVS

£500?!?!?!?

The more you look, the more you see. All matters of taste, and none of my business until you get to the fact that:

A) he’s put a 50kg screen with a sharpish underside directly on top of a pool table

B) he’s put the very same 50kg screen with sharpish underside on top of the thin power cable

C) he drinks Budweiser

I’ve offered him £7, just for my own amusement, and as I type this he’s given a counter offer of £490. I don’t think we’ll be striking a deal…
