Neo Gold wrote: May 12th, 2024, 11:42 pm John's a business man.. Nothing more, nothing less..
You're not telling me he's not tried to power up or check the other machines sold as parts only!?..
If there's some sort of picture he'd wack the price up.. I bought two Aero's off him 18 months ago working and in way, way WAY better condition with zero screen burn for £850 a piece.. ZERO rust on them.. All they needed was a quick service.. Chassis repairs.. Few buttons /sticks.. Clean and cut... I put a few hundred into each of mine.
Look close at those machines in photos.. You can easily see flood damage.. Water ingress..
All fixable.. But expensive... Even for me and I repair/re-do every part myself.. If you're paying someone else to sort jobs... The price gets silly.
And when I asked about prices being high, all he said "well, everything's shot up in price now.." and markets changed.... Yet he's dropped them down in a matter of days.. I even made sensible offers.. 😉
£850 is a very good price.
Based on that these would probably be £400/500 tops
Exactly.... You're right on the button mate, I recently offered to buy one or both for in between that..x2 He refused. Domy is way overpriced too.
Again, mine was in similar condition.. And I'd thought I paid too much in the condition it was in at 1500!..it cost me a small fortune to sort it myself.. That was everything chassis repair/pwr supply and panelwork/prep paint etc etc... Alberto panel.. 2k 🤣
Projects are what they are 'projects'.. If its 'dead' then it should be reasonable money.. Reasonable shed money is around £350. That's what a smashed up non working pony cost me... Those cabs shouldn't be much more tbh.

That Mahjong CP too.

With a bit of tlc that Domy could be the next 7.5k eBay cab :awe:

Duck race would be more up my street if I had the space reminds me of that old arcade horse racing game.

His prices are way too high..

The markets a mess in my opinion. Probably cheaper to fabricate your own cabinet 😂 also not sure on how difficult it would be to find spares for these old machines. I imagine it’d be quite costly if at all.

And besides... You said you wanted a project!, dive in mate and enjoy yourself.. Tiny cab ikle domy is.
Cp's abit abrupt... But it's an old timer candy.. Mines still got ketsui in, although I may remove that crap for something a little more vintage.. Say Flying shark or Raiden... Proper Stg's from my era 😂

Any idea what one is actually worth?
I quite like it, but even at a third that price, I’m out.
I don’t think I’ll ever buy another expensive board.

Probably a third of the price for that eBay one would be generous - despite claiming to have red blood, those aren't the original Japanese seals. I'd guess Korean from the seals...but I think that has green blood too. My guess would be Overseas or Korean (judging by the part of the board rev I can make out) with reburnt EPROMs - but maybe someone else can chime in? :)

Japanese (mint) is a pretty expensive game, though. I remember seeing one sell for €1500 on Neo-Arcadia back in like 2021; another one (maybe on Arcade-Projects or Yahoo) for equivalent to $2000 in late 2022-ish - haha going off old WhatsApp convos here

No idea where that leaves it now...you could argue prices might be even worse - but then again, everything looks to be kind of flattening now (what with the general economic dumpster fire). The non-Japanese versions are probably the way to go, really...those have always been a good amount cheaper - and you can easily switch them to Japanese with two EPROMs :)

I feel the same about a lot of pcb's... Agree, £300..even at today's so called value I would not buy it, I paid same price.. For dangun feveron, ESPrade.. There's loads, I simply don't miss them or would even think of paying what folk are selling for now.. I always had Nemesis at hand.. A few hundred quid.. But today 1500!?..keep it thanks.

My E2 is now listed on eBay. Thought about listing it on here but too many concerns (mostly around what price & trying to make it "fair" as I guess there will be a few who want it) so Ill leave it to the market to decide. Starting price is just above what my Blast went for (but that didn't have stools or the all-important ashtray).
