Re: AV Heaven
This years model has already been £980 and supports VRR. BX is the one to buy for a “next gen” console. It’ll be less than £980 in the next fortnight.
That being said, I agree with Pete. If you can hold off until the the summer, the 2020 sets will be £300-400 less than right now

Re: AV Heaven
Probably the best picture possible on oled is with Gemini Man but is also one of worse films entertainment wise
and has forced soap opera effect 60fps.

Re: AV Heaven
Just a heads up my mate who has a 65" LG OLED has recently been contacted by LG regarding a recall on a part of the TV & they are sending out a engineer to his house to fix it I take it he must of registered it when he bought it so maybe not everyone is aware of this.

Re: AV Heaven
It’s the power board on some of the older (2017 iirc) 65” OLEDs. The tv nags you every time you turn it on. I had mine replaced months ago.Pete wrote: June 9th, 2021, 3:34 pm Just a heads up my mate who has a 65" LG OLED has recently been contacted by LG regarding a recall on a part of the TV & they are sending out a engineer to his house to fix it I take it he must of registered it when he bought it so maybe not everyone is aware of this.
Worst case, it goes on fire. Best case, it burns the screen

Re: AV Heaven
Will be in the market for a new 65" TV in a couple of months. Which is the one to get? I've always bought Japanese and they've never let me down so I'm tempted to just go for Sony again.
I'll need a new AV amp as well but I think I'll stick with Yamaha unless they've dropped the ball.

Re: AV Heaven
I fitted a really nice Lyngdorf processor recently, with a Yamaha amp sounds great, the TV was a 65inch Frame awful OS but great pic.
Also a B&O surround sound, hifi, setup, the TV I think is a 75 inch LG oled but supplied by B&O to integrate with the Theatre sound bar.
Both setups come with very good room correction software which will keep you occupied for hours.

That is not my idea of a good time.thegreathopper wrote: April 17th, 2024, 3:38 pm very good room correction software which will keep you occupied for hours.

I see Yamaha are long overdue a new range. You can guarantee that'll be announced the day after I buy the 2019 model. Might go with Marantz.

Re: AV Heaven
In reality it only takes a few minutes, after using room correction its hard to imagine how bad a uncorrected room might sound.
But I presume all AV Amps come with some kind of DSP now.

Re: AV Heaven
I can second this. OLED is a must and basically all good OLED TVs use LG panels... I guess
