Favorite lesser known beat em ups
I''ve been collecting / playing beat em ups for years.
I am always looking to try a game that is lesser known, and even if it's " garbage "
I love beat em ups and brawlers.
What lesser known beat em ups do you like?
For me I really love 64th Street Detective, Zero Team , Knuckle Bash and Guardians.
I'm after Big Fight, Riding fight, and Arabian night that's the next one I really want.
My collection so far.
Night Slashers, The Combatribes, Zero Team , Silent Dragon , Guardians, Ninja Baseball Batman, Sengoku 3, Undercover Cops, Crime Fighters, Vendetta, Violent Storm , Xmen , DJ boy, Brap Boys. CPS multis, Knuckle Bash 1 & 2 , and 64th.
Can you guys suggest anything? What's your fav?

Arabian magic is good, very pretty.
Gaiapolis is very fun too and the CPS2 D&D games... i like the added rpg aspect, regular brawlers have a tendency to get very dull for me (zzzzzzzzengoku on mvs anyone?)

Me too! I love the setting! The glass smashing sound effects are great too! I also love the random crap that falls out of walls when you throw an enemy onto them

Re: Favorite lesser known beat em ups
I recently downloaded a Pi 3 Hyperspin style image and there was loads of stuff on there I've never even heard off which is the beauty of emulation.
Legend of silk road anyone?

Is it better compared to Mame?
I've been debating getting a PI or doing a groovy mame crt build.
I love my MiSTer but it doesn't have everything.

Re: Favorite lesser known beat em ups
Never heard of 64th Street. YouTube suggests I’d like it very much!!
The super cheesy intro is right up my street!!
Is it rare/pricey?
I see you already have it, but I think Vendetta/Crime Fighters 2 is criminally underrated. Especially compared to Final Fight which I think is massively overrated.
Vendetta is my second favourite brawler of all time after SoRII.
I also think Revenge of Death Adder is so much better than it gets credit for. Golden Axe is rightly a classic (I have a System 16 multi in the post and I can’t wait!!), but I think RoDA is head and shoulders so much better, yet it never gets spoken about in the same way.
Undercover Cops is a great one too… very nice collection you have so far

Re: Favorite lesser known beat em ups
Streets of Rage 2 runs brilliantly on an arcade machine with Yuzo Koshiro's soundtrack absolutely thumping out of it. It such a colourful game too, looks amazing on a nice CRT.
I've a soft spot for Rushing Beat on the SNES, my cousin had a Japanese Super Famicom import version we played the hell out of back in the day.
I find with Beat emups it's all about the grab function. If the game doesn't have a grab (as in walk into an enemy and grab), it can get old very quick. If it does have a grab, it makes it feel a million times more engaged.
Then you have things like Linn Kurosawa in Alien Versus Predator who almost feels like a fighting game character with the amount of moves.

Re: Favorite lesser known beat em ups
If console beat 'em up recommendations are OK, try Maximum Carnage. It's not what I'd call a good game on same merits as say Bare Knuckle II, but it's a challenge some people enjoy. I like it.
Emulation's nice when done well

Pcb doesnt show up too often, usually goes around 350.
Also would recommend Light Bringer and Dark Seal 2 if you like the fantasy setting.

Re: Favorite lesser known beat em ups
Have you gone anywhere near the IGS PGM? Quite a few beat em ups there. I haven't dug mine out of storage for a long long time now but I remember The Gladiator being particularly nice to look at.

On a similar note to the above, ive got knights of valour: seven spirits (i think??) for the AtomisWave.
Only played it briefly to check it works, but it was pretty good. Looks nice. Loads of characters to choose from

Long time ago, I did a listing of arcade beat'em all (I'm a hudge fan of them). Could refresh memories
