Which specific solder?Pete wrote: May 4th, 2023, 11:09 am I use SRA solder:

Along with non acid liquid flux.
I was recently (very sympathetically) informed that I have completely inappropriate plumbers solder.
It’s a wonder I’ve achieved anything at all with it!!!

Re: Random Thoughts
I won't be giving up coffee any time soon, but here in Switzerland the water is extremely hard and limescale is a nuisance. It tastes good, though, but everything needs cleaning (more) regularly.emphatic wrote: April 6th, 2023, 7:59 pmI was completely off coffee for 3 years straight, but now I'm drinking several espressos with heavy cream in them on the weekend. It used to be Lattes, but I'm never touching regular mink again, so cream is just perfection. I just missed the ritual of it all so much, I even refurbished my Rancilio Silvia with new parts and am trying to perfect my espresso game.cools wrote: April 5th, 2023, 10:23 pmThis. I kicked my caffiene habit (again) at the beginning of the year, and nowadays any kind of regular sugar intake gives me heartburn.
The quality and flavour of the water in this area is top notch (we get zero limescale), so straight out of the tap is fine.
Our tap water is great too, no lime.

Re: Random Thoughts
It took me way too long to figure out why I had this greeny yellow colour instead of blue ... It made no seneas all 3 colours seemed to be firing other screen seemed ok except they where slightly off the colour test screen showed red green blue and white
Even saying it over and over again in my head RGB ,RGB and looking at the 3 wire hooked up to the monitor
And then after about 15 mins on the colour test screen I really green was hooked to blue
switched and All was fixed

Re: Random Thoughts
It made me think of some of the "Jamma+" cabs at R3play all those years ago.

I'm thinking the cab isn't broken. It's just a comment on the CP 'effort'

Re: Random Thoughts
Cheers Pete. I'll give that flux a go. I had a 250ml bottle of some generic no clean flux which I bought from ebay ~15 years ago. It's just about ran out and unsurprisingly I can't find what I bought before. I bought some of [this] recently but it doesn't seem half as good.Pete wrote: May 5th, 2023, 11:09 am

Genuinely the only thing that made me laugh recently was when we took the back of this cab & saw a off the shelf Dell pc:
