Re: Random Thoughts
I drink mostly water, tea and coffee, so a coke is like a treat and I limit my intake. Losing Pepsi is hard though

Re: Random Thoughts
Can't drink Pepsi anymore whatever they put in to it doesn't agree with my joints
but it was changing for the worse anyway... Our Tap water is great here though so can't complain.. I need to seriously cut out the copious amounts of coffee I'm drinking these days as it just too much.

Re: Random Thoughts
I was completely off coffee for 3 years straight, but now I'm drinking several espressos with heavy cream in them on the weekend. It used to be Lattes, but I'm never touching regular mink again, so cream is just perfection. I just missed the ritual of it all so much, I even refurbished my Rancilio Silvia with new parts and am trying to perfect my espresso game.cools wrote: April 5th, 2023, 10:23 pmThis. I kicked my caffiene habit (again) at the beginning of the year, and nowadays any kind of regular sugar intake gives me heartburn.
The quality and flavour of the water in this area is top notch (we get zero limescale), so straight out of the tap is fine.

Our tap water is great too, no lime.

Re: Random Thoughts
Had the same experience with Fentimans, also a while back there was this rhubard drink local to me that was amazing ... then they changed it, and it's awful now.SuperPang wrote: April 5th, 2023, 1:36 pm Big fan of Pepsi Wild Cherry despite the corn syrup. Got some coming this week. Also partial to a Mexican Coke. Even though ours has proper sugar as well, the Mexican stuff does taste different. More syrupy, a bit like Maccy D's Coke. Good with ice.

EDIT: Ohh ffs. Just picked up a bottle of Fentimans Curiosity Cola and they've done the same! That's the second time they've cut it. Tastes awful.
Thanks for the link, not a fan of HFCS, but there is some interesting stuff there.

Re: Random Thoughts
I'd been trying to figure out what was causing me constant and worsening acid. Couple of things were aggravating it but once the coffee was gone it went away completely. I only ever drank black, and maybe 2 cups a day albeit fairly strong (equivalent of a double espresso each time, I guess), hardly excessive but enough to trigger whatever it was.emphatic wrote: April 6th, 2023, 7:59 pm I was completely off coffee for 3 years straight, but now I'm drinking several espressos with heavy cream in them on the weekend. Could probably do weekends but other reasons mean I'm not bothered, it's quite nice to have a calm mind - I know caffiene makes me more easily stressed and irritable

Re: Random Thoughts
Yesterday I bought a bottle of Bundaberg and a box of Flintstone Fruity Pebbles cereals. I paid 400 Turkish Liras or 20€ for these 2 things. Bottom Line: nice, but really not worth it.LEGENOARYNINLIA wrote: April 5th, 2023, 1:17 pm Back in 2018 when I was in the UK for couple of weeks my first visits to Sainsbury's and Tesco gave me a bit of a culture shock. Everything was sugar free! Aspartame triggers nasty migraines for me, so I can't touch that crap at all. I spent quite a while on my first day at Sainsbury's looking at all the sodas, and the only one with sugar I found was some "olde timey lemonadey" thing. Thankfully I found Bundaberg's root beer at a Tesco. Aussie stuff. Tasty too.

Re: Random Thoughts
Finally able to put some time into Batrider, and I have some controversial thoughts…
A) it’s not as hard as most other SHMUPs!! After a few hours, and experimenting with different ships/teams to use, I can now get veeeeerrrrry close to a 1cc on the ‘Normal’ course.
I’ve put far more time into Esprade, and I’m nowhere near a 1cc.
(Caveat: I do start the game into the settings menu, and then enter the game with Start, which means the game starts at the lowest rank. I understand this doesn’t affect rank progression during the game though)
B) I’ve got it on a supergun, with an MX8000 on it’s side, a custom stick, and a big comfy leather Noble chair that reclines slightly…
While this is far from ‘authentic’, it’s super comfy. It ‘might’ be a better experience than sitting at the cab!!
C) Less controversial this time. While there will never be a consensus answer to ‘best’ SHMUP, Batrider has a great case for the ‘coolest’, right?!

Re: Random Thoughts
Was doing a good bit of repair / sodlering over the last few days had some very fine fantastic solder that was a joy to work with,I'd guess less than .5mm .....switched to some other "high quality" and thicker reels I had and oh boy ! one went straight in the bin it was that bad ,the other was very average ....my problem is I've no idea what the good solder was as I bought it so long ago ..I'm thinking it was possibly some leaded kester but no idea really.im reluctant to buy any going by the other 2 reels I have and after seeing the price of solder these days
