it has VGA and DVI, but I dont think it supports HDCP
I can't get any picture via HDMI>DVI cable on the Vewlix L monitor, but you can with the F if it has the Sanwa monitor

HDCP is not important , since you don`t wanna use a resolution higher than 720p.

since the screen does have an open dvi port , it should actually support digital signals.

very interesting.

I've looked into this alot previously and HDCP is for movies only not for games (at present), but its at all resolutions greater than DVD quality. So 720p included.

a month ago, maybe so, now though - I think your maths are a bit out
price of bits
£300 PS3 and SFIV
JVS Pac - £45
2p Vewlix CP - £200+

around same price for a 360 & hacked pads i'd say

doubtfull 1 TX2 motherboard and 1 HDD and dongle is going to be much use or interest to joe punter at the moment over the PS3 or 360 versions :geek: they can be picked up new for about £2k each now with mobo

Already missed the boat & it's not arrived yet :awe:

True, It's not worth $1000 to me, but I thought they were still going for $3000 / 2600EUR. Mind you that's not to say that they are selling.

The ps3 wont output ANYTHING over hdmi without HDCP
this means the vewlix f screen is hdcp conform.

maybe thats the reason why meg dosen`t get a picture on the L screen.

@Meg , could you try to hook up a dvd player to the L via hdmi/dvi adapter ?

good that my ps3 has a HDCP on/off option :D

Well its been well over a month since I first posted on the subject and Capcom have yet to deliver my Vewlix to me... That said I'm not moaning I'm getting something amazing for them for free here.

Anyway to get to the point I talked to them yesterday and as well as apologising profusely to me for the thing being so late (and promising me uber capcom goodies in the process...which is yet more reason not to complain and spread what a wonderful company they are).

They said that they're waiting on a two player CP for my SF IV machine...? Now they've previously used the words arcade machines to me... so I dont know if someone's getting confused or is bending the truth to get me excited, but since they'd said it, I thought I'd throw the fact out there....

Anyone heard of a 2 player single SFIV cab? I figured now the dust has settled a tad Capcom might be releasing an update for two player cabs and thought ppl might have heard something in the ether...? Or might be interested to know....

Apprently the cab is to be delivered in about two weeks....of course that was said a long while ago.....

2p SFIV is a bit of a hot potato at the mo. It does exist, but not officially. If Capcom did supply you with a retail 2p version you'd be very very lucky.

not the hot potato thread again

If it were me I'd be hiring a van & picking those suckers up :awe:

You should post some pics when you get it / them. Fingers crossed you'll either get 2 cabs or 1 cab with a 2p version of SF4 :awe: I think the latter is highly doubtful as there isn't even a 2p version in Japan, but that being said Konami did a 2p Pro Evo for the export market & not in Japan. I think Sega did VS4 2p cp as well export only.

Its been forever since I first posted the topic...I know trust me. But I've finally received my Vewlix from Capcom. And boy do I love the thing!

OK, OK the truth is I got it about a week ago, but I've barely been able to tear myself away from the thing. So out of the interest of the group I thought I'd post some pics of what Capcom finally delivered me.

Its perfect other than weirdly when trying to play the PSN 1942:joint strike Demo I get some major audio feedback. I figure it might be the audio cables so am grabbing some higher quality ones.

When it got delivered their were 3 more in the truck. I asked where they were going and apparently two were going back to capcom and the 3rd was to be kept by some PR company.

Image

Notice the the PS3 XMB in the background...why? That's cos It got ready delivered with a PS3 installed, ah how nice Capcom are.

Image

Also notice the JVS-PAC on the bottom right of the PS3... if I didn't know better I'd say someone from this scene did the conversion...Hummm I wonder who. Also notice all the power conversion stuff in the bottom of the unit.

Image

Finally just a close up of the CP and a few games.

I've not had any extra freebies as of yet. But I'm not exactly complaining. SFIV came with the setup when it had arrived. I've installed YDL Linux on my PS3 and attempted to play some MAME through it. Although it runs oldschool games OK, unfortuantly the JVS-PAC doesn't register as a Joystick so I can only play through the PS3 pad. I'm sure there is a work around but I'm not the most Linux savy person.

The sticker is from Giz10p, who were involved in the conversion. But I think a few companies were involved....and it says..."Do not hold down the power button as it'll reset all the PS3 video settings" (or to that effect..lol). As I said above Capcom are getting 2 of the "conversions" (I have no idea if the other three were converted or not) and the other is going to some PR company apparently. But I have no idea if that's to keep or use for future competition wins.

Anyway as long as I have mine.... :D

Well if you have any problems, here's your man: http://www.arcadeotaku.com/forum/member ... file&u=439

ordyne / Craig owns Giz10p. He's a great guy to deal with too. I don't imagine you will have any, but just in case

Honestly the job that's been done looks first class. So on what I've received I'd recommend the guy. There's alot of obvious minor touches that have been done which just makes you realise what a good job the overall conversion is.

But most of all that it just works really well. Kudos to that man.
