I'm pretty sure that the bad Hardware contributed to ops pulling the game out of arcades.

A Deathsmiles 1, 2 and MBL + exa modes would sell like hotcakes.

OK I’ll bite: Metal Slug eXa.
Take Metal Slug X, reduce the input lag, make it wide screen, add a scanline filter, maybe interpolate animations to 60fps.
I’d buy that in a heartbeat.

I think I said elsewhere in the thread that Metal Slug exA would be my reason to purchase an exA in the first place.

There are a couple of games on the system that I’m up for, but not enough to make me invest right now.

I don’t agree with the above though… (firstly, MS2>MSX )

Let’s have a legit Metal Slug 8. All new levels, and huge new boss fights. Get @trap15 involved (thanks for the MS2 Turbo patch), as many OG artists and developers involved as possible, maybe even conclude the mainline story (Morden and Allen O’Neil playable against the Martians?!).

I still think if shou could get a exa exclusive of a awsome shmup or any game tbh,would be better than ds2 or similar you can literally play it on any console now even ps5,I know that’s not a strong argument and could make the case for any game on consoles or mame,but ultimately it’s a arcade machine and you gotta get people to go and play!congrats on tohou,great decisions from what I’ve seen it been received awsome and brought a new audience to the arcade,the tohou cult!!it’s got them away from there pc into the arcade!gg

As much as I welcome news of new titles, I've already got quite a backlog of titles I'd love to pick up as and when funds permit.

Saying that, is The Fallen Angels still on the cards? It's one I'm quite excited about and haven't heard any news about it in a while.

Touhou Perfect Sakura Fantastica like you said brought a whole different demographic to arcades in Japan with lines all day from morning to close. Operators haven’t seen anything like this since the pandemic started or even for a shooter much less a joystick arcade game. It’s bigger than Cave, Raizing etc all combined.

If you play on a CRT setup, it looks fantastic on 31kHz.
