It sounds well lush.
12kg of Luxman build quality.

This is the dealers demo unit btw, hence the free chips. Mine is due around June, which is lucky if true because people have been waiting the best part of a year for these, such is the way with electronics post apocalypse.

Yeah. It just sort of happened. Everything but the streamer now. Never would’ve considered the brand if not for my dealer’s suggestion to try the L-590. Every Luxman product I’ve tried since has had the same smooth but detailed house sound with superb build quality, and it all looks great together on the rack. I’ve wanted the EQ-500 for years. End game stuff.

But how often do you change your cartridge?
I get a phonostage like that If you have lots of 50s Vinyl that needs all thise settings. But the music we listen to is mostly set and forget, isn't it?
Still lovely piece of Kit.

Most of the settings are for MM, which is a bit odd given the price. But yeah, it has 3 inputs. Some audiophiles have multiple arms and carts on the go.

You can never have enough arms and carts, a bit like Jamma boards

Re: Varnish connoisseurs
Must be the reason why you had no spare cash to buy the 1080p Vewlix monitor.

Re: Varnish connoisseurs
That's a lot considering your amp already has a nice phonostage. Poor Easterbunny

It's a lot by any standard. It is considerably better than the inbuilt phono stage, to put it mildly. It's regarded as one of the very best you can buy. I've been lusting after one for years and will likely take it to my grave.CTN wrote: April 10th, 2022, 6:24 pm That's a lot considering your amp already has a nice phonostage. Poor Easterbunny
It has come to the stage where I'd rather have this than a Vewlix any day.

Re: Varnish connoisseurs
Not everything. My DAC is second hand and the deck ex-dem. A used EQ-500 came up recently which was very tempting but given it’s valve based and a keeper I decided to buy new. Plus I got a good trade in offer and a free tonearm/cart checkup while he was here.

Maybe someone here can help.. i recently got one of these egg chairs!
It has a pioneer sound system built in but the power chord was missing, what sticks out of the chair looks like a female stereo plug, anyone know what type of plug i need?

Theres a small controlpanel hidden in the chair for hooking up USB/bluetooth/etc so i guess its all selfcontained and it just needs power?

Re: Varnish connoisseurs
I'm curious whether it's been retrofitted with the Pioneer setup. That looks like a normal barrel connector but missing the centre pin.

Re: Varnish connoisseurs
I think you need to trawl google to find out what make/model it is. If that is a power input then it's an umbilical for connecting to an external power brick so you've no idea what voltage or connector you need.
