Absoluty rght, I don't think that they went down anywhere near as well as the Ikeda titles, and certainly didn't achieve the popularity or profile. Which makes them even more attractive now. With an Exa makeover and HD artefacts the Yagawa / Cave trilogy could really be made to pop!!!

Does everyone want the YGW games?
Batrider could be a strong candidate :)

I think some of the xbox port arrange modes would be great as well:
Ketsuipachi
DFK Arrange A
Pink Sweets Arrange
etc...

And revenue wise, Mushihimesama Matsuri :D

I know only Zak wants Deathsmiles II.
I personally never been able to like most of Yagawa games. Too much micro management and suicide which I never liked in shmups (Hence my question about Cotton RnR Arrange yesterday on Discord). From Yagawa's work, I like Recca, DFK BL, Espgaluda 2 BL and AK only. I do recognize that he made great games, I think Garegga is a masterpiece of programming and design, but never had fun with it even knowing the depth of it and trying it since over 15 years.

I wonder how the Bat-Trilogy, MMP, PS and Ibara would fare in arcade these days with a new exa release. Surely, many private exa collector would buy them. From my past experience showing these games to casual players, I never saw a strong reaction from them. I would be curious to know how is the japanese shmup scene view on these games. I don't see them mention often among the people I follow.

I also wonder how a strong M2 port would affect an exa port sales, like Garegga, Ketsui, etc. Would people feel they are already enough to own ?

On my part, I already have Aka to Blue Type-R and Infinos EXA and I am more than happy since I purchased them. Next are SDOJ and Akai Katana that I'll order by the end of the month. Been hesitating a long time for SDOJ as I have the CV1000, but the more I was thinking about it, the more I wanted the exa version to enjoy all the improvements and new modes. (Overflow off is practically a new mode imo).

For the future, I'm eager to see what Tanoshimasu are working on. If Aleste Branch end up on exa, that would pique my curiosity. Also I would love to see some Matsuri/Limited versions of in future Cave ports along a new arrange mode.

Once you play exA mode, you won't want to go back to vanilla.

From an op perspective, most YGW games have not performed well upon original release.

They usually are appreciated much after the fact and then players are too good at the game thus spending over 30 minutes a play on it.
Battle Garegga is considered a genre classic but it makes little money for ops.

We always have to take this into consideration when planning a new release.
Can an arranged mode or adjustments make the game perform better etc?

Well I guess SDOJ and Akai Katana prove this beyond any reasonable doubt and its great to hear
of the very healthy sales.

From a very selfish perspective, it seems that Ibara original, Kuro BL and an Exa mode would make
for a fantastic package.
Muchi I guess could consist of vs 1.0, 1.01, Matsuri and an Exa mode.
Pink Sweets may be a bit thinner on the ground with original, arrange and an Exa mode.

But, with reduced lag, HD artefacts and the fantastic packaging / quality of Exa releases, it
would be difficult to think of a finer set of releases..........but I'm a big YGW fan, so just a little bit
biased 😉

I do enjoy the YGW games - especially MMP and Pink sweets (and I would buy copies of each for EXA) but more than those, how about a DDP rerelease, maybe with Campaign version attached? When I was younger in the 1980’s I played and enjoyed a bunch of shmups but DDP was the catalyst for my love of the genre.

I'd like to see HD packages of these games

Deathsmiles MBL
Ibara Kuro
MMP
Pink Sweets

I'd buy them all especially if we get cool limited editions. Take my money.

Also since there is a partnership with SNK give me some Metal Slug as well.

Honestly I'd be more interested in seeing something like a polished up version of Wing Force, or Raiden V or something.

Not a raiden V fan,I regret buying raiden V for PS4,no way I would buy it for exa, raiden 4 overkill?maybe, but unlikely.ultimately any game released on exa needs to make money for the operators and exa, would more exclusives be the way??it’s a hard decision glad I don’t decide future releases!

Considering they haven't even found it viable to develop a shmup for consoles in the last decade, I think a return to arcade development was a bit of a pipe dream even before Covid hit. Happy to be proven wrong someday, but CAVE are a company who are very good at treading water, and these days that seems to mean making moe mobile games and licensing their shmup IP.
