Does everyone want the YGW games?
I know only Zak wants Deathsmiles II.
I personally never been able to like most of Yagawa games. Too much micro management and suicide which I never liked in shmups (Hence my question about Cotton RnR Arrange yesterday on Discord). From Yagawa's work, I like Recca, DFK BL, Espgaluda 2 BL and AK only. I do recognize that he made great games, I think Garegga is a masterpiece of programming and design, but never had fun with it even knowing the depth of it and trying it since over 15 years.
I wonder how the Bat-Trilogy, MMP, PS and Ibara would fare in arcade these days with a new exa release. Surely, many private exa collector would buy them. From my past experience showing these games to casual players, I never saw a strong reaction from them. I would be curious to know how is the japanese shmup scene view on these games. I don't see them mention often among the people I follow.
I also wonder how a strong M2 port would affect an exa port sales, like Garegga, Ketsui, etc. Would people feel they are already enough to own ?
On my part, I already have Aka to Blue Type-R and Infinos EXA and I am more than happy since I purchased them. Next are SDOJ and Akai Katana that I'll order by the end of the month. Been hesitating a long time for SDOJ as I have the CV1000, but the more I was thinking about it, the more I wanted the exa version to enjoy all the improvements and new modes. (Overflow off is practically a new mode imo).
For the future, I'm eager to see what Tanoshimasu are working on. If Aleste Branch end up on exa, that would pique my curiosity. Also I would love to see some Matsuri/Limited versions of in future Cave ports along a new arrange mode.
