Mine wouldn't look anywhere near as good without your encouragement.

Sadly I have no money for boards anymore and I sold all mine in the early 2000s before prices rocketed. So I've made 2 GroovyMAME machines with custom Egret 2 pink themes for Attract ModeChempop wrote: April 30th, 2020, 6:18 pm Wow, amazing restore so far! I love these threads![]()
What games will be going in these? Looking forward to the finished results.
Thank you mate. Your stickers will help!emphatic wrote: April 30th, 2020, 9:19 pm OMG, you're going all the way and beyond on this. Respect!
This is zinc plating, same as what it was originally plated with. I platers also sprayed a lacquer afterwards for me to prolong life. It isn't quite as durable as nickel or chrome, but is about a 10th of the cost. For example the plating will cost around £70ish for everything, polished nickel was almost £600.whitecomet wrote: May 1st, 2020, 12:32 pmSo what would I need to ask a plating company for to get this kind of finish?Lazyace wrote: April 3rd, 2020, 9:41 am
Day 12
The platers dropped these back for me - wow, big difference! Final bits went off for plating. I also used Emphatic's excellent monitor guide :http://www.emphatic.se/?p=710 to tweak the first MS9 for a fantastic picture.
Nope. Wasn't harsh enough to remove the coating. Novus 3 works a treat.neogeomeister wrote: May 1st, 2020, 6:44 pm Have you use Novus 2 and than Novus 1 to clean the Monitor ?
That's a great idea. I'd love to have real hardware in as any cases as possible, but it's getting less and less feasible as times goes on and having two cabs like that sounds like one of the best ways to go about it for maximum playability. Jealous! I probably faff about and change games too many times for real hardware anyway. If I had more money, time and space though, as alwaysLazyace wrote: May 1st, 2020, 12:43 pmSadly I have no money for boards anymore and I sold all mine in the early 2000s before prices rocketed. The machiens are all sorted and monitors tuned to each machine as despite using identical components and GPUs, the Radeons output different images so had to be individually tweaked.
Thanks mate. Finish line is in sight now. Next update should be when the bases are dropped back to me next week!monouchi wrote: May 6th, 2020, 7:29 am Looks amazing, and those were some seriously rough cabs you started with. Awesome work.![]()
Yes, comes with E2/E3 panels. As you said, never seen them in any shop.emphatic wrote: May 20th, 2020, 8:16 pm The SANWA mounting plates, are they the ones that are supplied with the EGRET II? I've never seen those in any shops.

Yes they do. Don't arcadeworld sell them? https://www.arcadeworlduk.com/products/ ... Plate.html go to the drop down menu. It's the second plate, no? They are just OOS at the moment.emphatic wrote: May 20th, 2020, 8:16 pm The SANWA mounting plates, are they the ones that are supplied with the EGRET II? I've never seen those in any shops.

Not sure they would be compatible with Alberto's repro panels as he has a mounting plate soldered on.emphatic wrote: May 21st, 2020, 1:23 pm Someone should do a replica of the TAITO ones. Essential for mounting SANWA JLF at the optimal height.
