Nice. I bet SME decks sound great but I’d find it hard to part with the Gyro for something uglier.

I got a pair of LS50 this week. They’re great for the size and money.

Nice, I want to have a listen to the active version,

Darko rates the 50’s with a Hegel amp.

Nice. What are you driving them with or are they the actives?

Got a home demo of my end game amp. It was a no brainier. Having one delivered on Friday. Sexy VU meter pic to follow.

Soz kern. Valves just don’t do it for me. Maybe in the phono stage some day.

Comes with a loudness button, :D have you run Rew in your room Joe,

I heard a pair of Kii3’s in a very treated room a few weeks ago... Wow sounded out of this world.

No as I have no means of applying EQ in my current setup. I fancy an Innuos streamer which I could use as a Roon core so could try it then, but that'll be next year at least. I'm sure I have some serious bass peaks caused by the the left speaker as my room is far from ideal. I'd never put the vinyl through AD conversion though.

The Kii's do seem impressive. The Dutch & Dutch 8C are supposed to be very good as well and from what I've read I think they'd be more to my taste, but I must confess the box swapping and upgrading is part of the fun for me.

When I heard the Kii’s they were also sat on their own dedicated subs which almost doubles the price! and in the same room I ABed with a pair of 8C’s which were equally impressive and preferred by the guy doing the demo.

I don’t know how much was the room treatment or just the kit but both sounded really good, I have never heard hifi sound so 3D you could pinpoint every instrument to the mm.

Arcam A19. I’ve shrunk my system to fit it in the new (been here >4 years) house.

Impressive. I certainly don't have that, and probably never will in this room. I'm more interested in getting tone and dynamics to my taste than perfect imaging. Those very "Hi-fi" sounding systems tend to make poor recordings sound awful, and I don't listen to classical.

I've noticed a couple of people running these with the A39 if you're ever looking for another upgrade ;)

I’ve been tempted with old (80/90s) Sony ES integrated stuff for ages. I might go down that route.

The phono stages are well regarded so it would be one less box again

Can’t take a decent pic of this thing for love nor money so I stole someone else’s. :hinthint:
Can’t we just let the Japanese manufacture everything again? It’s wonderful.

Normally it goes more money, less time, but that’s been turned upside down this month.

I love these little LS50s

I can see me going down to just the turntable and the active LS50s next year
