They are apparently hard or impossible to repair, and it's been a while since I checked but some spare part sellers used to charge like 300-400 quid for the video board alone. It was cheaper to try and source a full boardset for Spikeout or Virtua Striker 2.
Maybe 10 years ago. Like you said, Virtua Striker 2 runs on the same hardware and that's a 200 euro board at most, even today.
Spike Out is relatively uncommon and it has a cult following in Japan. There's also a bunch of extra hardware that you need if you want to run with music which will add to the cost.
Two Final Edition sets with all the hardware needed to run them in a Jamma cab plus artwork went for around 70k each on YJ:

https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/401888817
Anyway, it's a fun game. The market for selling one is in Japan though.

What's the going rate for a control panel upper for an Egret 2? It's been prepped and painted nicely. Thanks!

I've seen a couple in the region here and the regular going rate I've seen are about 500 Eur for an entire cabinet (White Euro Sega Woodie cabinet, same as with Virtua Fighter), but Ive seen boards go for more as in your example there. It makes sense now.

Price check Capcom vs SNK 2 (naomi, gd drive, adapter, cables, disc). Basically a plug and play setup.

No, you're not. Two sold on YAJ with panel last week. One for 151,000 yen (=1270 Euros):
https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d385293851
And another for 206,000 yen (=1730 Euros):

This, of course, begs the question where did geosnow get his crazy inflated YAJ price from?

These prices are all for the Japanese version. The USA version goes for less (last one on YAJ, without panel, sold for just 96,000 yen) :

Re: You've Got Grail! The Valuation Thread
For the lost worlds plus spinners in light of the above, a probable quotation could be 1200-1700 euros
...it must be said that it is a very dangerous game to take as the starting price for a new sale, the highest price checked for the last auction !!!

I just had the 250k-300k in mind. Sorry about that.EOJ wrote: ↑September 12th, 2019, 5:03 amNo, you're not. Two sold on YAJ with panel last week. One for 151,000 yen (=1270 Euros):

But as we all know, all prices in Japan are like 2-3x more than in Europe except the ones released after 2010.

Where do I post an ebay scammer user name. I sold the guy my system 256 with T5DR and he claimed I didn't have included the dongle. He also complained not to have included a jamma 56 pin harness in the box. He was looking to get back 125GBP but finally he accepted a partial refund of 80.

I guess the dispute thread is as good as anywhere: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=12802vasilas432 wrote: ↑September 13th, 2019, 4:38 MPWhere do I post an ebay scammer user name. Re: You've Got Grail! The Valuation Thread
Egret 3, excellent original condition, retrofitted with Toshiba PF (taken from an NNC) + original Wei-Ya PSU. Also retrofitted with internal stepdown and a UK plug (the internal Japanese sockets are still 100V). 2L12B original CP. Only bad points - degauss has never worked (I use a wand).
I also have a spare Toshiba PF monitor where the degauss does work
