Jodie Whittaker and (surprisingly) Bradley Walsh doing a good job. The show doesn’t take itself too seriously any more and seems to be made for the kids again. It’s fresh, current and diverse but Chibnall’s writing is really weak. The Rosa Parks episode was genuinely moving though.

I just finished that. It's getting better. The first series was a bit uneventful. I was only sticking with it for Emily Meade tbh.

I'm a sucker for anything involving David Simon / Richard Price. Love the slow pace of shows such as The Wire, Treme, etc. Also a big fan of Price's novels. It doesn't feel like TV shows, more like a documentary or a glimpse of the real world. They really create an authentic illusion of how things are/were. As such, the uneventful nature doesn't bother me too much but you really have to be in the mood and take your time to enjoy long episodes that rarely leave you with a cliffhanger of any kind.

True Detective season 3

That was absolutely awful. The final episode lasted an eternity. What a boring turd the whole thing was.

I get that Mahershala Ali is meant to be a broken, lost man and struggles with empathy, but watching 8 episodes of that, left me feeling like I watched a robot mumble through his lines.

The first episode set it up so well, after that though :palm: and the final scene

It would have made a good 2h film.

Less than a month to go eh?

In the meantime, I'm watching Star Trek: Discovery and Punisher. I like Punisher a lot actually.
