Time to resurrect this thread. Fukkatsu suru! :whoopsie:

When it comes to anime I have all my eggs in the Crunchyroll basket, so please don't tell me the new Devilman show on Netflix is sooo goood.

So, Crunchyroll.. Overlord season 2 started a few days ago. I really enjoyd the first season (finished it last night), so I'm excited. Log Horizon has a similar theme and is also really good (binged through both seasons in a week). Apparently the author of Log Horizon manga had some tax evasion shenanigans so season 3 is unlikely, boo. These shows about MMORPGs are surprisingly entertaining even for someone who can't stand online gaming. Check them out, yo.

I've been slimed by a nasty flu for two weeks now so a recommendation for a fantasy/adventure show with enough episodes available to binge through this weekend would be kakkoii. But not too many episodes. I do like the "good old stuff" but I prefer faster pacing when my entire skull hurts.

Dunno if it's down your alley.... But I watched Inuyashiki which is about an old man who finds out that he is a kickass weaponized cyborg. It's good adult anime and not as strange as it sounds, once your brain settles.

In terms of comics, I am now finishing the third volume of Fantastic Four Omnibus by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Next will be Xmen Omnibus by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee, volume 2.
In terms of cartoons, I am currently watching Batman animated series from the nineties

They released a new Bruce Timm Batman animated movie last summer. I haven't seen it yet and I don't know what I'm waiting for. :awe:

I found this on Crunchyroll but only in manga form. I'll still check it out.

This week, I''m watching my favorite show of the eighties-nineties: teenage mutant ninja turtles. I started with season 1 on Friday and I will finish season 2 by Sunday. I feel like a kid again...however, by today's standards, season 2 is quite bad. Impossible resolutions of main problems that the turtles encounter, lack of logic...this is seriously wasted time. I was ready to sacrifice a weekend though, for the sake of nostalgia

I knew there was an "Anime" thread somewhere - Watched most of the classics ages ago. But I've got Amazon prime & Netflix to dig through - any recommended viewing on their coverage or do I need to subscribe to cruchyroll or similar service?

Have acquired and watched downloads of:-
  • Highschool DXD (all four series).
    Zombieland Saga.
    Assassination Classroom.
No Game, No Life + Zero.
    Tokyo Ghoul.
    Hi-Score Girl.
    Girly Air-force.
    Beelzebub-jou no Okinimesu mama.
    Fate Zero.
2 * Vewlix Diamond Blacks,2 * Vewlix-F, 1 * Sega Rally 3, 1 * Video Pinball, 1 * DinoKing (JAMMA Converted).

I can recommend some shows, not sure what streaming services they're on though.
  • Spice and Wolf - Medieval fantasy romance
  • Toradora - highschool romcom
  • Steins Gate - Sci fi
  • Re:Zero - fantasy action romance thing
  • Code Geass - action sci fi political
  • konosuba - fantasy comedy
I just choose a bit of everything that I enjoyed and was well received, if you list some of your favorite shows I can recommend based on that.
Also myanimelist can be used to keep track of what you've watched, it's also shareable for moments like these :)

Based on that I'd try Re:Zero, Overlord and konosuba. Konosuba isn't as action heavy but probably the funniest show I've seen.
All three shows are "isekai" that new genre where the main character is transported to a fantasy world.

The other stuff I mentioned is worth a watch if you want another genre/style.

Just downloaded all three series of Overlord - will have a watch tonight.

Started watching "Zero no Tsukaima - Familiar of Zero" last night while rebuilding a NAS array - Not sure if it's enjoyable, just odd or cliched yet.
2 * Vewlix Diamond Blacks,2 * Vewlix-F, 1 * Sega Rally 3, 1 * Video Pinball, 1 * DinoKing (JAMMA Converted).

I've heard about that show, people seem to love it or absolutely hate it. Let me know if it gets any better.

I'm currently watching "A Certain Scientific Railgun" it's a highschool slice of life but people have super powers basically, so there is the odd fight.
It's enjoyable but it's hard to say if the show is actually good.
