That has been on for a while. There are 2 without the phono stage at £500. TBH I don't want to spend that much. If I bought that other amp, then my 909 & Burson HA160 would get punted, which is a big chunnk of the asking price, but it doesn't do MC carts :palm:

:-o :awe: i take it you didnt spend 2 grand on it ? they'd have some cheek trying to charge delivery charges on that .

i've always wanted to hear some of these high end ones on the same setup and compare it then to a known decent speced low end one

i think the most ive ever spent is just over 100 but then again i dont have a high end system to run :problem:

Are you sure? Amazon clear as mud as usual. The page mentions 2009 and 2013 and according to discogs, Rumours wasn't issued on vinyl either year. The SH one was a 2011 Reprise release on 45 and 33 /3 RPM in the US. There was a bit of confusion as the European 45 release was a different mastering. Not sure about the 33 1/3 single LP but I bought from the States (http://www.discogs.com/sell/release/283 ... nt+%28M%29).

Anyway, I'm sure it'll sound good regardless. It's an exceptionally well recorded album. I believe the SH one has the countdown to Gold Dust Woman unlike the digital one.

This is a ballache! So many pressings :palm: I thought as it was a remaster and reprise, it had to be the Hoffman mix, clearly not.

Important part is it arriving tomorrow.

I've ordered moon safari from Amazon too, not got a clue what version they are selling.

On top of that, ordered back to black, listed as UK but I'll bet it's the U.S. one that arrives with a **** pressing and missing song.

@Geo, it came with the turntable. I very much doubt I would have spent £300+ on my first cart if it was just a bare arm it came with.

I've got vinyl pressed from digital remasters that sound perfectly good but if you want an album to sound the best it can, it's worth doing the research. Usually the best version is an early UK pressing so the challenge is finding a decent one at a fair price. Occasionally there's a well done analogue remaster out there that you can find new. Got a great 2009 remaster of After The Gold Rush last week.

Aye, I have been reading up on it. Half the fun is tracking one down at the right price.

When I demod the TT, the dealer had a 1st pressing of paranoid, it was rough as ****, but sounded fantastic.

I'm happy to pick one up in that condition for £15-20.

For a change we are lucky to be in the UK. Even US albums tend to have better UK / EU pressings

Pfft. Vinyl...

Got this in the post today. 'Personal Surround'. :awe:

Two points:

1. It's a superb album.
2. The 'Personal Surround' gimmick sounds absolutely bloody wonderful. Tested on HD598's and AKG K550's, not tried my s3c and s4c IEM's yet, reckon the s4c's will sound like butter though. :awe:

Nice Gryo though. :) :thumbupright:
