Hello Arcade ppl !,

i have this R-type PCB,and i find weird the "MADE IN JAPAN",is without doubt BOOTLEG...,i think is the first time i see a BOOTLEG PCB from JAPAN...,

and others R-TYPE BOOTLEGS PCB dont have this "MADE IN JAPAN"

Seen one before, and yes obviously bootleg. Not unusual to find all sorts of writing to try to make them look legitimate, when you go back in time.

Some older clone boards are arguably as good or better in quality than the originals if you go back to Galaxian/etc days.

this is the SHINOBI bootleg i think,

the Original is System 16,i never see one Original but i have others like Golden Axe...so i understend is Bootleg...,

but you know if this Bootleg is JAMMA?,

dont work...just Black screen,no Graphical Garbage...,nothing...just Black screen... ,

is possible this PCB uses the System 16 pinout?,

It's not JAMMA, you'll need a sys16 adapter to see if it's now fried.

I have the adaptor for Golden axe system 16...,i can try with this...,

pity...sure is now like chicken fried fried...,

but does not appear the old friend MAGIC SMOKE...,

and the LED on the PCB was illuminate...,

maybe i have luck...,tomorrow i tell you,

Probably nuked the coin meter & +12V input with -5V, other than that..
Does audio still work? Which version is it? (Beta? Star? see copyright in the bottom right of screen..)

i would guess its a boot ,seeing it has no board markings etc ,not keyed totaly & different layout to on original (daughterboard)
the chips are a curiosity alright, maybe it was a licensed version for some foreign market,is there anything on the boot upscreen 's that suggest a region or if licensed ?
