The first arcade and NES games just use the name of the franchise (except in Japan the Famicom version is called Gekikame Ninja Den). But for some reason they decided to call the port of the arcade game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game in the west, while it's just Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the Famicom, just like the arcade original. Blah blah blah, so it's not really a sequel, but a port of the arcade game, and the first game is a stand alone masterpiece. :awe:
Late reply, but thanks for this explanation by the way.

Ahhhhh, that makes sense. I think I remember the controversy now. Much more politically correct to beat up transsexuals.

It's a quality response actually. Saying 'it's okay because they're packing meat' really takes the Micky out of the PC nonsense, and they got away with it too ...Well, in the arcade at least.

Was she officially a he as far as Capcom Japan is concerned? Is SFIV Poison a tucker?

Good question! I didn't know so checked the SFXT wiki and...

:hinthint:

The wiki goes on about some controversy relating to Ryu & Chun-Li's derogatory remarks in their winning quotes which were changed because some LGBT group complained upon seeing some footage or something

I just skim read it really so that LGBT part may be inaccurate... link alert!...

I added some of the games mentioned here to: http://forum.arcadeotaku.com/viewtopic. ... 15#p302315

Since I am not familiar with all the ports mentioned here, I didn't add all of them yet...

Mercs/Senjou no Ookami II on Genesis/Mega Drive not only contained a decent conversion of the arcade game but an entirely new game which was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the arcade game which had different characters, each with a weapon that could be powered up, etc.:
