Definitely nice fix to all that rot!

...wouldn't have thought to use that for the tough stuff. Are you planning on keeping that filter cap on the 12v line, or replacing it with a higher farat eventually?
You should post this over at the shmups forum, they've got a hardware Repair thread going, and this would be a good addition to it.

Yes, I don't think that it'll pose a problem with the 470uF cap, as it's just for smoothing the 12V rail...not filter.
