Re: New Hyperspin Out
I've done a new system too and it is set up with Mala too. I am interested in this though as when set up well I don't think any look as good as this!
I've installed it and started fiddling but not used to it or anything. Busy downloading all the emumovies for it as well! I'm using the latest Mame and romset and SF4 PC version.
What other emulators are worth having!? Loaded it up initially and it has the lot in the menu wheel, don't think i'm interested in console stuff just arcade! I did wonder about a seperate Neo emulator so I can use the light kick (Street Fighter layout) as A and follow round in a more traditional curve!
The first problem I have is after removing everything else and having just SF4 and mame in my main menu they repeat all the way around the wheel. Just a full wheel of alternating SF4 and Mame, looks rubbish!
I'll keep fiddling with it and see how I get on! I like the intro and everything, makes it look a bit more pro!

Re: New Hyperspin Out
I don't believe so now. My last mame cab was for vertical shooters only and the best frontend for this was Mala imo.neokidgeo wrote:Is hyperspin horizontal only?
Hyperpin is setup for vertical as its a pinball emulator, it may be possible to run mame on this but I don't know!

Re: New Hyperspin Out
I was supposed to put no not now! Thought they would have implemented this! But of course I don't know how complex that would be! Lots of Vertical games though and for those that can't afford Cave pcb's its a shot at some of the earlier ones!Mellor wrote:I don't believe so now. Re: New Hyperspin Out
Have you gone for the works then with all themed and movies? I've just become a month member of Emumovies and a gold on HS. I have the full mame rom set for .136 mame but have decided to go for only the themed ones as I think it looks great! Waiting for FTP login details and then prob a week of trying to get on! Still 750 games or so and I'll never play many anyway!gargoyle67 wrote:Any body else wet between the legs like me for HS ? I've got all my movies now and HS is running how I want thanks to some help! Still haven't been sent login details though so need them before even trying to get on the FTP. He's been online several times but hasn't sent me them yet!gargoyle67 wrote:Yes I'm a gold member and have emu movies FTP account, Mame looks great with just themes enabled, FTP on both suck donkey dick at the moment at every ones hitting them, Luckily I've got everything so just finishing off setting the last few emu's up with HS

Re: New Hyperspin Out
It's actually win7 believe it or not, As it has a smaller install foot print and is most compatible.
64bit version even better

Re: New Hyperspin Out
Does Hyperspin still use CPU cycles when you are running an emu?

Re: New Hyperspin Out
Necrobump.
Been playing around with Hyperspin - liked the amount of effort that's been put into things so much I've got a paid account for the artwork.
But after messing around with it so much I realised that I actually disliked how the themes tended to splatter all over the screen and hide the menu, and how things tended to slowly animate in and generally just not snap nicely.
So I've been making my own default arcade theme. Not sure whether the scanlines on the video are a good idea yet or not, I've not seen it on the cab.
Note - no damn MAME logo and no text list. Also carefully selected games (my favourites, plus all the recommendations from the Good MAME ROM list and various threads on this forum. No NeoGeo yet as I've got a NeoGeo cabinet

Re: New Hyperspin Out
Was thinking about getting a paid account myself, did you go with gold or platinum with hypersync?...been messing around with HS for quite a while now, setup quite a bit....i'd like to get finished at some point but alas probably just another project for me....Been playing around with Hyperspin - liked the amount of effort that's been put into things so much I've got a paid account for the artwork.

Nice theme cools...i've used that background image so many times for various prints etc!!

For gods sake, its a carton box - not the holy grail!

Re: New Hyperspin Out
Platinum. Not sure it's worth it if you're not using all the themes and dumping everything on, but it's certainly convenient.
I should be able to polish off my theme soon and finish the build, got all the bits together.

Re: New Hyperspin Out
I been dabbling in hyper spin latley, as a tester to see how it work's i built a snes 8gb usb flash drive portable version for my brother all custom art work etc , including loading screens to hide the slight delay in loading roms off the drive. Thing I don't like about it is how busy it is too much going on at time's and Mame is just all over the place quality wise, but as you can customise it quite a lot so nothing that can not be fixed. Will post a video tomorrow as bit late now don't want to wake up mrs flame
