I tried picking away at one on an XvsSF I had once - it came off only a tiny bit at a time - I got half way through then left it when my fingers started to hurt :problem:

I tried an adhesive remover spray but it was only good for residue or paper stickers which it could penetrate. If anyone's removed an Electrocoin sticker easily & without marking the plastic I'd be all ears :awe:
Your right matey it always leaves some sort of mess behind it's impossible to take the stickers off with out you ever knowing it was there before, but at the end of the day the electrocoin stickers was made it that way to stop arcade owners just pulling the sticker off and saying the board was there's,mo had a right job back in the 90s with people nicking the boards out of cabinets that's why most of his games have "MHP" all over the casing :) .

Cheers Richy. The Electrocoin stickers are a right bugger for sure - they'd definitely have been fit for purpose back when the boards were in operation.

I'm not even going to try to pick away at the one on my AvP as it's intact and in good shape with no ragged edges - in fact it's the only Euro board I've had with an Electrocoin sticker which hasn't been picked at.

Blast it with a hairdryer on full whack for 5 minutes or so to loosen the adhesive, then carefully use a plastic palette knife to lift it off. I've done exactly this with 100% success, however you still run the risk that the case underneath the sticker will be brilliant blue compared to the rest.

Because most of the euro / etc revisions in the uk came from japan to electrocoin they all have the red or blue sticker in the middle or to the side of the boards lable, electrocoin back in the 90s was comissioned to make there "own" capcom artwork for there cabinets so they used to just chuck the origianl box & artwork which is one of the reasons euro kits are so rare now.

when im looking for a euro revision of a cps2 game i always try to buy it from a country that used the euro / etc revision but didn't come via electrocoin and are normally in better condition than the ones that have been round the house's from one person to another.

the stickers on the board has never bothered me but if it's been half picked off it looks even worse.

Cheers 8-) I'll maybe give it a bash at some point - it doesn't bug me all that much and it may be better with it on than off if the plastic's faded even a tiny bit. I'm pretty certain I don't own a plastic palette knife though...

Agreed, it can make an otherwise mint board look really scabby if someone's already had a go at it.

crunchy or anyone who may use a palette knife to remove a sticker - dont get one thats super thin as they can be as sharp as a good knife, gave myself a pretty bad cut the other week cleaning one like that, so could damage the plastic. go for one thats 0.5mm+ with rounded edges.
