Lindbergh problem

Post by swiecmich »

I've got a sega lindbergh recently and I decided to try to get it running. The game was booting up without any problems, but I was getting error 11 from the game (i/o board not connected). At the beginning, I thought that the i/o board might be broken but after searching the forums I found out, that my JVS baseboard led is orange and it should be green. So yesterday I pulled out jvs baseboard and was still getting the same error 11 (obviously). But now, after I reinserted it, it is even worse :( Now it gets past "Now loading" screen, x11 starts up and this is it, only generic x11 screen with cursor, the game is not initializing. I cannot even get into test menu, which I could do before (test and service switch do nothing now). It doesn't matter now if the baseboard is inserted or not.

I don't really know what is going on and why reinserting jvs baseboard made things worse but maybe someone was experiencing the same problems? Any ideas?

1) Remove both batterys from the Motherboard and from the baseboard.
2) Change jumper switch near to the battery from 1-2 to 2-3 to do a cmos reset.
3) boot lindbergh until you got a cmos error, defaults loaded.
4)Shut down lindbergh and put back batterys.
5) Boot lindbergh again until you got a cmos error, defaults loaded.
6) Power off lindbergh and put back jumper to 1-2.
This definitely seems worth trying.

From what I see on the motherboard, the pins are numbered like this:

2 4 6 8 10 12
1 3 5 7 9 11

Currently jumper is set to 1-3 which is "NORMAL". 1-2 is "CMOS" (is this CMOS reset?).
I guess that by 1-2 you mean 1-3 and by 2-3 you mean 1-2, is that correct?
Is pulling the battery out necessary to do CMOS reset? It quite hard to get it out...

Now this is strange because I don't get to Lindbergh logo screen. With hdd connected I get "Now loading" screen and then black and white screen with X cursor (generic x11 screen) and I'm stuck on this screen, nothing else happens.

I tried to disconnect hdd and then it is "Now loading" screen only (progress bar goes to 100%) and nothing else happens.

So I cannot get into test menu now :( Maybe CMOS reset will help with that?

Strange thing is that before I pulled out jvs board 2 days ago, it was way better - it was "Now loading" screen, then X screen for like 1 second and then the game was initializing.

I have two 512MB sticks. Just tried pulling out each of them in turn but result is the same ("Now loading" screen only without hdd and "Now loading" + "X" screen with hdd). Should it work with just one stick if it's good?
