Yep excactly as crunchy said.

But if you want to know more emph then sit back for a breif history lesson from Paulie poos ;)

In the 19th C prostitution in the Ye olde Englands slums & cities was rife, but so was public lice. Simpliz just shave of your thatch and the lice are homeless :awe: Now here's the problem, pubic hair was desirable and men would pay a preimum to ladies of the night who were hairy Mary's. So in a lightbulb moment someone came up with the pubic wig AKA mirkin. Now the ladies could charge top whak for doing the doo and no **** lice, happy days! Nowadays they are a fashion accessory in a similar way to the lovely vagazzle :awe:

Got some more bits so a few steps closer to completion.

I stuck these in the 'I receicved today' thread but what the hell.

Now after all the talk of pubes and mirkins I must say I was extremley disapointed, as both parcels were 100% bush free

Got this rather special package from our very talented wiring and plastics guru :awe:

And from Cools :awe:

I've finally got a day off work where I don't have anything on, so tomorrow the resto can continue albeit at the usual snails pace. I want have a go at the Marks NNC CP and given the weather dare I say retr0brite the monitor surround plastics. I'm also going to install Franny's wiring, test the AW setup and also get the GD-rom in there and test that out too. Maybe even pop in a credit or two on CvsSNK :awe:

Very nice! Lots of lovely Monsieur B parts :awe:

Hope you enjoy your day off and get everything you intend to do done - I always have grand plans whenever I take a day off then usually get only half of it done if I'm lucky and wish I'd taken 2 days instead :problem:

As always I look forward to seeing the fruits of your labour :awe:

Rub it in why don't ya

This morning I got the GD-rom all set up and it works great, a big thanks to Mark for sorting me out :)

I'll show you how to set this up as it looks a little daunting but could'nt be simpler or could it.

What you need is if it's going into a Naomi wired/PSU cab (IMPORTANT JAMMA CABS DIFFER - you will also need some extra kit for those)
Naomi 1 or 2 mobo
GD-ROM Drive [610-0617]
Dimm Unit 256mb [840-0001]
SCSI 2 Cable [605-0040-500]
JVS Power Splitter Cable [605-0041]
GD-ROM Mounting Bracket [105-5435]
GD-rom game & correct security chip
The correct BIOS. These come in serval region flavours and each region has had several revisions. You can tell what revision your BIOS is by the letter printed on the ROM. You need revision E, F, G or H Bios when using GD-rom. But then you need to know what region and revision BIOS works with the specific region and title you wish to play)

My Naomi came with Rev D BIOS which is no use to man nor beast. I popped that out
Image

and swapped it for a REV G BIOS.
Image

Make sure you line the pins up and put it in the correct way, theres a notch on one end of the chip and a print of a notch on the PCB the other end has no notch so you can't go wrong
Image

Pop the DIMM boad in this is exactly the same as putting a cart into the mobo
Image

Plug in the SCSI 2 Cable [605-0040-500]
Image

Plug in the JVS Power Splitter Cable [605-0041] one end goes in the GD-rom and the other end goes in the mobo. Mine is not the original cable,it was lovingly made by FrancoB
Image

Image

Pop in the security chip
Image

Take the little screw out of the GD-rom lid, twst it off pop in the game and pop the lid back on and screw back in
Image

It should now look like this
Image

Then hook up the rest of your Naomi's 'regular' cables VGA, RCA, USB and the two power cables as normal the only difference is that the large power connector will clip into the power splitter cable rather than into the mobo.

Check your voltages (I've only put these pics on so I can show off my lurvly new volt meter)

Loading
Image

and...

BOO! I got an ERROR 02 message which means the BIOS is not complatible with the game I was trying to play. I only have 2 GD-rom games at the moment and I got the same message on both games. So I'll have to do a bit of research to find out what BIOS I need for my two games
Image

But I know everything works so that great.

I've also fitted Franco's loom which is brilliant :D and played a bit of MS6 on the Atomiswave so I'll pop some pics up after dinner.

 looks well! Glad it's all up and running. That's a right pain about the BIOS/game compatibility though  I have Guilty Gear XX which worked fine with that BIOS, but I'm guessing that Reload only had a Japanese release & needs a Japanese BIOS? I bought mine from AGS http://triplemoonstar.brinkster.net/the ... ockid=1459" when I bought CvS and realised it was only compatible with a Japanese BIOS :palm:

Cheers buddy, I wouldn't have had this if it wasn't for you :D

Aye its a pain but TBH I'm not too bothered, I know it's all working which is cool, thanks to your BIOS. My main concern was would the GD-rom unit work, so alls good. Just a lack of research on my part but I learn something everyday and thats all part of the fun for me.

Thanks for the linky will check out what's what BIOS wise tonight
