It's definitely CV1000. Looks like it, and it was running on an E2. Probably the Akai Katana variant or an upgrade. Didn't think for a minute it would be anything else after DS2.

The game looks cool, but sadly the Dress System appears to be exactly what I hoped it wouldn't be.

Why can't Cave make a game without female characters abounding?

(However, gameplay looks awesome and I can't wait to play it, girls aside.)

I'm happy for a new arcade shmup from Cave, but it's a little too similar looking to DFK to get really excited about. I was hoping to see something more original, for some weird reason.

I too would prefer something original but at times like these Cave return to their successful IPs. The DOJ title seems more of a reference to the gameplay than the presentation and it does look like DFK. I rather like the backgrounds though and the bikinis don't seem to intrude too much. I am happy to see less bullet cancelling. Not a huge DFK fan myself.

Well I'm sure it will play well enough, no issue there. I suppose aesthetically they're just playing safe. Naked glassy eyed birds and shiny graphics are pre-requisite for shmups these days, or else they may turn off Japanese people who only like women made of painted plastic. Dark and gritty graphics and a soundtrack that doesn't sound like Euro pop may also cause them to cry tears into their Deathsmiles 2 teacup.

SDOJ looks better than expected, although as mentioned it is pretty similar to DFK. If it packs a few nice set pieces we could be on to a winner.

I think it looks kinda fun, but the boss backgrounds are too busy and will looks damn tired on your 10th credit already. I wish they'd re-do the bombs, they look just like the last three or four CV1000 games except that there's no kanji like there was in AK.
