dont know for certain but any board i've seen the b board doesn't come out as far and the first row of chips are different ,but they could've been boots also ! plus also that looks like a big cap and not a battery ! can't remember if willow had the suicide problem.

is there sound from the start ? or after it goes through its boot screen? i wouldn't worry as much as long as it plays ok?

13H needs a sticker! looks real to me I wouldn't really care if its a CPS-1 conversion running on a genuine CPS-1 board (which that is) - surely it plays exactly the same, and the legality is pretty moot these days.

There are different size A and B boards, and different layouts. The big cap is a normal CPS1 item.

Looks legit to me.

I've read the Ghouls n' Ghosts-thread too, now I'm **** my pants. Can someone tell me if my Final Fight is boot or original? I mean it's crying Final Fight all over it but you never know.

Btw: I changed the mobo a few weeks ago, now the game starts with a scream of Guy at the beginning , don't know why.

Looking at buying this Phoenix board, is it a bootleg? I've heard it has at least 4 different manufacturers so I thought I'd just post here :D

I don't know what Tron boards look like but they should look like that ^ :)

I played Phoneix on one of the cocktails at r3play. It was hard but it was fun.

You looking to buy?

Yep, one for sale locally. I don't mind knowingly getting a bootleg if it's a game I really want and there's no other (affordable) option, but in this case it's either original or buy a 60 in 1 :)

I really am still amazed that complete bootleg boards were made. Fair enough I can understand Ops prepared to do/buy rom swapped boards but some of the boots must be completely new PCBs no?

Were game PCBs that expensive 'back in the day'? Could someone design, manufacture and distribute/sell enough boot PCBs fast enough to make some £$£$ in the time frame that a newly released game was popular?

That's a very good question, i've often wondered that myself  Surely its gotta take almost as much noddle to make a boot.MVS for instance got to have been alot of profit for boot makers there.

Any thoughts on these MVS titles?

MD3 came in a grey case but the boards look real to me.

Puzzle Bobble comes in the original case but has patched up EPROMS, did all PB's come with ERPOMS?
