This is not a boot and is it not a Conversion o Phoenixed version.
This is the real deal folks.
It has no sticker since they were not released whith it in this version, but it has its original battery and encrypted rooms.
I can provide pictures if required.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
Arriving to the US are subject to your customs deptarment´s inspection. If they decide to inspect your package it could take up to a month or more for it to arrive.
THIS IS COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL.

I've dealt with this guy before, and have nothing negative to say about him! He knows his CPS2 stuff very well (it would seem, from my limited knowledge)

He says it's real - I believe 'im.

Also, why the assumptions that games out of Mexico are bootleg? Most of the bootlegs I see of arcade stuff come from China/Hong Kong, or occasionally France.

I was told HSF was never released in the US. So HFS was not released in the US but the US version was released in Mexico?

Released in Mexico because they have a huge fighting scene where as in Europe there are about 3 arcades for the whole continent.

I spoke with this seller at some length last night, and have talked to him a few times now. Very nice guy, very straightforward. He used to operate arcades in Mexico. Frankly, unless he's the most talented and personable scammer out there, this guy is 100% legit.

I know other people who're very knowledgeable about CPS2 as well that told me he's great to deal with.

Frankly, if I end up selling off some stuff and have extra money, I'll pick up a Hyper SF from him (he's got a couple boards left.)

+1. As far as I know Mexico still have a **** load of arcades where they have wall to wall CPS2 stuff still making lots of cash. You see the mass sales of the banana (yellow mexico cps2 boards) in 60,100 and 200 CPS2 boards pop up on ebay all the time.

It IS that rare, actually.

Here's a quote from an exceptionally knowledgeable member of neo-geo.com
mainman wrote:Street Fighter Anniversary is the most expensive mass production cps2 board, far less common then progear, but is still not the most rarest as that honor belongs to Rockman : The Power Battle and Street fighter tournament edition.

It is indeed a real board. I know him personally and have bought ten or so CPS-2, CPS-3 boards and several other PCBs from him. As a matter of fact, I I have dumped several of the boards I bought from him.. you can check in MAME for that precise dump of Hyper Street Fighter, which I sent to the team.

He was indeed an arcade operator and is very serious and trustworthy seller.

It is true there are several boards from sale from here, and I can tell you that all the ones I've seen are legit. Capcom Mexico did exist and sold their boards in different casings, usually with the original stickers and later games got releases in yellow and green boards mostly. There were some anomalies on their production, but I believe that they were due to demand. They started releasing a bunch of hispanic games on green cases with green connectors (compatible with US boards).

This particular case of Hyper Street Fighter II I really doubted, as a matter of fact I thought it was Japanese. But no, it is the US edition, has the original Capcom mask roms, the encryption keys and encrypted data from the US version that was probably released only here in Mexico.

Cheers Artemio, very interesting. Do you happen to have pictures of this pcb? Not that I don't trust you it's just that I believe it would be awesome if we had some pics in the forum given the rarity of this board.

Thanks for the information, Artemio! I had a few conversations with him on Yahoo chat, but his English isn't the greatest, and my Spanish isn't either, so it was a bit of a broken conversation at points, particularly where he was explaining about Capcom Mexico.

Anyhow, he's a really nice guy, very pleasant to deal with.

JJP, I may pick up one of these shortly - if I do, I'll snap some pics.

Cool. Meantime I've been doing some research work and it would appear that the US version of HSF did get a very limited release thus the mexican wasn't bulcrapping us after all. As for the gameplay I reckon it would be like the Asian version of HSF (which I already own anyway), so this is merely a collector's thing. BUT if the CPS2 US version is like the second print of the PS2 version (which got some bugs fixed) then it would be pure gold. It would be useful to know exactly when this game got released in Mexico.
