CAVE will probably repair it if you send it through Fujita. A broken Ketsui getting fixed costed about 130 Euros. It's never fun when it happens though.
On the other hand, it's not a broken Ketsui, so will it be worth sending it off to Japan?

That's a reasonable price.
I wonder if Cave would resurrect/convert to a black label...

Happy to have a look at it for you, can't make any promises as they can be a pig to fix, but PM me if you want to know how much I would charge (not a vast amount

I'm curious if anyone's ever had this problem on any other pgm based cave games. I've been watching the battery on my ketsui ever since I picked it up a year or two ago looks like the original battery but everything's holding together well and not leaking yet.

Well, mine went off to Fujita on Friday for a repair quote. Fingers crossed it's not horrendous.

It's not too bad. Selling the casing offset a large chunk of that.

Nice one. Assuming you didn't buy the DOJ for full price that's not too bad at all.

Great. Would be interesting to see a photo of it when it comes back. When the Ketsui I accidentally broke came back from CAVE/Fuijita, the factory scratched parts (to avoid copying, mt8) were all shiny. So it's almost better than new now.

Arrived back this morning.
Board is now very clean. Looks like the 20Mhz crystal at OSC4 has been replaced. I can't test the thing at the moment though.
