Question is - why is the Toshiba code prefixed TC yet the chip we are looking at doesn't have TC printed on it. Hmmmn.
Anyway. the Toshiba chip is now obsolete, am taking a look on Mouser to find alternatives.
Any old 74HC04 will do
Just lemme know if you have more questions about these.
They are connected to your panel thusly:
1. Unplug the GND from button A on your panel
2. Plug the spade connector from the circuit into the GND wire connector
3. Connect either blue wire to the GND on the A button
4. (Optionally) connect the second blue wire to yet another button by disconnecting it's GND
5. Do NOT cut the red wire, or your cabinet will explode.

Sadly, any time you introduce a micro you're probably going to need voltage. Run some power up to your CP.
Taito too.
I'm just keen to find out whether the 5v-less autofire is achievable, and if so HOW. I've read it can be done but never found out the method, and spoken to some very clever electronics bods who've not been able to give me a solid yes/no answer
Something with a series of relays may do it perhaps...
Me too as it happens - have 24 of the ICs now (inc the four Yosai gave me initially t'other week ). That said, don't wanna stand on your toes Lee - PM me.
Asides from this version of Emphatic's doo-hickey, I am also reverse engineering a proper pcb based Japanese autofire that Cools got - I have sourced 90% of the parts so far...
Plus, there is always the big box of 555 timers i have kicking about which I could utilise for a cheapy circuit
Always considered the use of auto fire as cheating
I'm surprised at most of you guys being into auto fire, Your so into keeping games authentic (using PCB's instead of mame) yet your not even baulking at introducing a foreign element like auto fire
"Yeah lets all get ponys instead, wait no lol trendy cabs" Err I think you meant Ponies didn't you ?
I can remember using auto-fire on the snes with SF2 & you could yoga noogie someone to death in 2 hits that’s cheating.
The Export version of Raiden DX has Auto C built in. The Japan region does not.
I don’t mind hammering the a button for 1 or 2 credits, but when you are playing at home, for maybe 2-3 hours it a total pain in the ****. They also use them in a lot of Japanese arcades & AFAIK they accept Auto-fire rigged scores in Arcadia.
