I'm noticing a couple of quirks when net booting some Naomi driving games, so I wanted to see if anyone had experience with any of these and could offer insight. My guess is that some of these are just simply 31kHz games and there's no way around it, but worth a shot to ask.
My set-up:
Naomi 2 (dip switch 1 flipped to force 15kHz)
Net Dimm (256mb)
Piforce Raspberry Pi
For fighting/puzzle games: Capcom I/O only.
For racing games: Sega I/O rev 1, Mitsurugi-W's JVC Helper PCB, and Capcom I/O for video and sound.
Driving games that run and work just fine at 15kHz...
Crazy Taxi
Jambo Safari
Driving games I've gotten resolution problems and error codes on...
18 Wheeler (STD) & (DLX) = will load at 15kHz, but the screen is doubled. I guess this is a 31kHz game, but it doesn't give me an error on boot-up that that's the case.
Wave Runner GP = same issue as 18 Wheeler.
Initial D Japanese = gives error at boot that it's only 31kHz.
Initial D 2 Japanese = "Caution 51" on boot. Not sure if it's correctable given the first game won't boot. Haven't tried net booting the others.
Club Kart European Session = gives error at boot that it's only 31kHz.
King of Route 66 = gives some type of error about Bad Communication on the I/O Port.
