Naomi control panel wiring assistance.

Post by Rvaswan1103 »

I must be stupid, or I just don't understand this at all. I have a Naomi Universal cab that's in stock condition. I need to install a baseball panel into it.

The panel has no wiring except for the sticks and bat mechas. What do I need to complete wiring this? How and where do I plug it in after finishing the wiring?

I can post pics later tonight of what I have.

I'm willing to pay for parts and labor if anyone wants to come over and help me.

I'm assuming that the baseball panels have analogue bat mechanisms? If the Naomi is only for normal stick games you will need looms to connect from the bat mechanisms to the analogue sockets under the cp (near where the digital stick/button looms are connected)as at the moment it's only connected up for digital controls.

I sort of understand what you're saying, but again, I think I'm not getting all of this. I believe that the bat mechas are analog controls, based on what I've read in the past.

I'm unsure if the joysticks on the panel are analog or digital. I'm sure the buttons are most likely digital, but they have no wiring.

Do I need to buy an analog harness? Or should there already be one in my universal cab? What other wiring do I need for the control panel?

If the sticks click they're digital, not sure what that game uses tbh I'd think digital sticks and analogue bat maybe, no looms coming from the batting mech?

You need the looms he's gotten rid of if you haven't any with your panel, seems it uses analogue sticks and analogue bat mech..

The looms you'll need that plug in near to where your digital ones are now are on this panel.

So, I'm assuming I need to buy an analog wiring harness to plug into my JVS i/o? I can't find one that isn't out of stock. Does anyone have one?

Where can I find the wiring loom for the panel?

The analogue loom is not already in the cabs JVS I/O? Just the digital one?

I'm not exactly sure. I will send pics when I get home. Right now, I think there is a loom, but I'm unsure.

There'll be a 60 pin digital but hopefully there should be a smaller 26 pin analogue one too,2 black connectors plugged into the JVS I/O board.

I wired one of those before.

US wiring:

JP wiring:

the panel should have 4 connectors:

2 12pin AMP for player 1 & 2 buttons.
1 10pin amps for 1 bats and sticks ( both analog controls ) ,
1 2pin amp for ground.

the pinout for the 12pin AMP connectors is the standard sega AMP pinout

the pinout for the 10pin AMP is as follow

01=AChannel0
02=AChannel1
03=AChannel2
05=AChannel4
06=AChannel5
07=AChannel6
09=AVCC
10=GND

not 100% sure on pins 9/10. if ALL your "directions" are reversed, swap the GND and VCC pins.

channels:
0/1 -> joystick 1
2/4 -> joystick 2
5/6 -> bats

the above will work fine with a blast city. If your Uni is wired properly, then the JVS i/o 's analog RA connector ( 26pin ) should be wired to 2 AMP connectors in the control panel enclosure. you just need to find the Analog splitter loom ( part NOA-60061 , giz10p has them ) because the Uni uses 2 10AMP pin connectors instead of a 10pin AMP. see below

took me 2 nights to wire it all up :roll: fun times.

So, this is what I have. Sorry, the cab is kind of dirty, because I haven't really gotten around to cleaning it yet.

Connectors from the JVS i/o

JVS i/o wiring.

More JVS wiring

Side JVS wiring, extra connector that I have no idea about

Baseball panel back, w/ no wiring.

Please let me know how to finish wiring this thing. I think I have some sort of idea. Is my UNI wired correctly from what you see in these pics? Do I need to buy an analog harness?

I can see that something is plugged in the analog connector on the JVS io. follow that 26pin connector from the io, where is it going, take a pic.

about the panel, you just need to build the harness. It's not rocket science , just time consuming. good thing is you can't really fry anything. it's pretty simple, it's all color coded, the white/red cables are GND , and yellow/red are VCC , the other ones the AChannel1-6. The buttons are wired as usual.
