Kern,

The connectors used on the AWSD POS PSU are (Tyco) AMP VAL-U-LOC:
http://www.tycoelectronics.com/catalog/ ... 7579,17761
RS-components has them in stock I think.
They come in all flavours needed so it's easy to make an addaptor cable and are actually also compatible with the AMP DUAC connectors too.

Long nose pliers will do just fine, that's what I use and I only f***** up 2 crimps (out of more than a 100) in my life with 'em ;)

1) A bog standard crimp tool can be had for £1
2) So long as you are not a cack-handed oaf, any crimp can be done with normal small pliers
3) See 1 and 2 and 3 and read the first character :awe:

Did the Egret 2 support +5V through the PSU? Or no?

There are some old Taito boards (Cadash, etc) I would love to play but both my AWSD and E3 do not support the +5volt so I am out of luck

Just buy a negatron and wire it into the +5 line. Dj Johnny should be able to knock one up (if he has time).

The AMP VAL-U-LOK and molex minifit jr look exactly the same: same keying, same pitch even down to the same grouped ridges on the bottom of the plug...
From the drawings they hould be interchangeable.

They'll just used the cheapest one I guess.

The power plug is probably a JST VH

purplepricess,
Is there a distinguishing feature between the AMP's and Molexes ?
I can't find one but maybe I'm just missing something ?
