Scammer Alert: LinkArcade and CV1000 conversions
Scammer Alert: LinkArcade and CV1000 conversions
Hats off to @EOJ and the guys on CAVE-STG for spotting this one. "LinkArcade" from China was trying to pass off a DFK PCB converted to SDOJ as original on AP here: https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads ... ost-284233
He sells on ebay too https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile/w45050?lb=1
He's recently registered two accounts here. The most recent with a couple of posts saying he loves SDOJ and its his rarest game. The accounts have been banned and his details noted.
SDOJ conversions are a thing. Buyers beware.

Re: Scammer Alert: LinkArcade and CV1000 conversions
Isn't LinkArcade actually Yaton? And the issue was a misunderstanding but the game was already sold at a cheaper price to get the rom dumped?
But yeah, sketchy situation either way.

Don't know why Buffi spent that money. SDOJ has already been dumped before.

Get your "cheap" cv1000 boards while you can.. in a year there are gonna be conversion scammers all over the place and the less desireble boards are gonna be the new gold.
And I dont think buying from japan is any certainty that you will get an authentic board, yahoojp is flooded with conversions and bootlegs ?

Tama is a b board. You'll need at least DFK d board for a future cv1k multi or to at least be able to convert to any of the titles.

Misunderstanding my ****.
Sells conversions on ebay.
Ignored request for extra photos.
Says he had it 3 years but the serial happens to be copied from a more recent picture on Suruga-ya.

China.
I dare say AP have been lenient as they want it dumped, which is fine. This transaction has nothing to do with AO of course but I'm done with giving sellers like this the benefit of the doubt and wanted to make buyers aware that these are officially out there now. Fortunately they're not hard to spot.

Yeah, after that I got a bit worried what will show up when my dragon blaze package shows up
hopefully it goes well. And I’m glad people found out before anyone paid the original price
Re: Scammer Alert: LinkArcade and CV1000 conversions
I fully agree. Anyway, good riddance on this guy.SuperPang wrote: ↑July 18th, 2021, 5:36 pm Misunderstanding my ****.

Noone has accused me of making smart spending choices :p
Will be fun to see if something shows up
Fwiw, seller has been super responsive and seems like a chill dude in PMs.
If it was an attempt to rip people off, thats obviously uncool. If it was him not knowing it was a conversion, then hey, ive seen that happen before.
Re: Scammer Alert: LinkArcade and CV1000 conversions
My dragon blaze showed up, and boots. Well packaged as well. So he sends what you buy at least
Re: Scammer Alert: LinkArcade and CV1000 conversions
I bought a PCB from him too. Arrived fast and well packed, all as described

Re: Scammer Alert: LinkArcade and CV1000 conversions
He still made ~$1500 in one swoop of it too, not a bad little scam..
Re: Scammer Alert: LinkArcade and CV1000 conversions
You might need to update your home contents insurance again Sven.
Re: Scammer Alert: LinkArcade and CV1000 conversions
A couple years ago they could be found on YAJ for 100,000 - 130,000 yen. 5+ years ago they could be found for half that.
But those days are long gone, it seems.
