They didn't even question the changed battery either.
Did it come back as US or Japan region?

This was a few years back... I sent a few carts over with the Aussies that were competing @ SBO. One of the guys knew an op which sent them in while they were over there.

Ive not used any of the usual middlemen before but I assume it would just work the same.

Have any of you guys seen this here?

It's from this auction here: http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e107590367

If I got it right, the seller added a socket with an external battery to the cartridge. In the description he says, that this way you can change the battery easily yourself instead of having send it to Capcom.

I have two battery holder mods by meanbean, which I successfully swapped out a couple of months back. I was pretty convinced at least one would die. They're gripped a lot better than that though.

Typically when Asian vendors revive carts to the Asian version, they are NO-CD versions.

No need, the CDs are all the same, no difference between regions. There are actually two SF3.3 CD revisions but they all work for all regions, as far as I know.

Don't know if I'm just really tired or just daft but...

The CD decides the version A/B whereis A has the unblockables and ofcourse is the desired version (990512) :awe:
The cart decides the region and you wanna avoid the USA cause that one has some of moves muted?

Any CD works with any region and you can burn a CD if you would get a version you didn't want with a purchase for example?

Gonna try and get a CPS3 System along with Street Fighter III: Third Strike and Warzard/Red Earth soon enough so need to get my knowledge straight.
