Right ..On we plod, focusing on the Top cover/canopy.. it was not in too bad shape really!
So we have two complete cracks at the top above both speakers...
Most of the monitor bezel/glass holder brackets are missing completely/broken off!.
Dammit..lower two-part metal glass brackets are missing & the glass itself is long gone, because the lower holders have gone it probably fell out and smashed when the canopy was raised
First things first..the whole piece was chemical washed/dried & cracks jigged & glued with CA so everything was perfectly aligned for attack!.
The messy grey gloop you can see is super strength epoxy..it gets trimmed & sanded..later on, this is just basic setting..the whole area has to be uprated & made strong again.
Simple start...steady away.

All those speaker/grille towers were smashed off too!!...so CA to get everything back in place.
Templates must be made from card first, then made from 1mm alloy plate.

The alloy has to be shaped to lay completely flat on the 'ruffed up' keyed area.
Trim off ally surplus with a file or barrel sander..
Another piece of alloy has to be made to fit the upper cracked area exactly..like this~

Obtain the curvature carefully...

You need to channel out the crack...like this~

Oh, added work was a broken bolt on the hinge line ..
Out it comes.

Remember to sand the side you are epoxying in place ...this has been set in place with 30min epoxy high strength...you can key the top & pour in more epoxy, but believe me, its not needed...this will be as strong if not stronger than before!.

Then you are left with a hairline crack on the face...next to be made to dissapear.

You need to channel out the crack like this~

That area will have to be sanded & skimmed with pastic repair paste & flatted back.
Exactly the same work & procedure for the opposite side..you already have your cardboard templates handy, just mirrored image.
Right i'm off for some supper, i'll be back later!
