They way i read it (dont ask me where) they had the idea that it will be an on going story like a comic. new characters get added to the fold and the story unfolds over a period of time. Good way of keeping people playing seems like DLC is where the money is in games these days.

announced

She hulk and Zero (megman series fame)

Not announced by capcom but cover blown by Gamestop Is Jill valentine (res evil) and Shuma gorath ( marvels tenticle rape beast who lives in the chaos relm)

Zero looks cool, She hulk looks like she plays a bit like Colossos (i perfer colossos to S.Hulk) no videos of jill or Shuma Gorath. I hope they beef up Jill a bit from her MVC2 days. She was fun to play but a bit **** in that.

These license cards sound interesting, giving you the option to see a players strengths and weaknesses before a fight.
Mission mode seems like it will be OK. Hope the game has some form of combo practice.

I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom changed the cover based on the feedback so far.

everyone thinks this. I kinda hope JP gets a version as I may just pick that version up if the arts more like the promo art they have been touting for the past 10 months.

Oh yeah its coming out for PC too now same day as the XBOX and PS3 versions.

Japanese cover. It think Capcom felt it made sense to get a Marvel artist to a cover as well.

I just dont get why they dont get udon to do a good job of it. I dont like udon style that kinda western easter mash but its better than the **** they are churning out now. At least on this JP cover they are using character models to make the cover (it looks that way to me anyway) I just think it looks dire. The PS2 and XBOX covers in the EU were pretty good. I jsut dont see how they can mess it up. They wont have much time to change it though if this is the case with a FEB release they will be going to print next month (I would guess)

What **** me off about this is it looks like the activision box art for the marvel games from about 5 years back.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance comes to mind as well as rise of the imperfects both not all that hot in the box art dept.

Marvel have some amazying artists and they do som fantastic freelance work too. Its not that hard to pick up the **** phone and give one of these guys some work. The origianl Japanses concept art which was released had that awesome colours akin to Capcom fighting Jam (**** game it may be) but **** best artwork for a capcom game for the past 10 years.

Playing MVC2, I really hope that MVC3 has some structure to the fights. MVC2 it's just bout after bout, with no build up to the final boss, who they just drop on you.
I much prefer the Street Fighter structure where you fight certain characters before the boss, or even what they did in CVS2, where the boss is introduced with a cutscene.

Who knows why they decided to make an original character for the boss, a really shame with both franchises containing great "boss" characters.

they are boasting a much bigger story line this time around. which would be easy as any actual story line would be bigger than none. I would not get your hopes up. I would like to see something to the extent of Alpha with mid way bosses and pre final bosses. MK vs DC has a pretty clever story line with each match making up a segment of the story.

There's rumblings of 2 extra as yet unannounced characters. (not the two US preorder characters either)
