Re: Sega Astro City Mini
If any other company had put a widescreen ratio screen on their toy they would have been bashed to hell.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
It was just an example. Obviously it would not cost sega a penny extra to produce their toy with better design. I guess a 4:3 screen would still be problematic or impossible in this day and age but the widescreen is hardly the only thing wrong with sega's lackluster execution on this thing.Chempop wrote: September 27th, 2020, 4:50 pm @arcnl Sure, but wasn't that mini-Astro around $1000 and not exactly mass-produced?
I'm usually going to care too much about a cheap looking speaker grill on SEGA's version. It's just a toy.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
They could have fixed the screen by putting a larger 16:9 vertically. But no.

At least it looks like it's got modding potential.nem wrote: September 28th, 2020, 10:49 am They could have fixed the screen by putting a larger 16:9 vertically. But no.

I seem to have inadvertently given myself pinkeye - shockingly, without even owning a Switch

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
I've been thinking about this one. Since the arcade stick that looks like a VSHG has a new design for the control panel, what are the chances that the internals are also something like in the mini itself?

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
I would be surprised if they went to the trouble of redesigning the internals.LEGENOARYNINLIA wrote: October 23rd, 2020, 6:22 amI've been thinking about this one. Mine's on a plane. I guess only those near-ish Japan would have theirs yet.
