[REL] NAOMI Multi-region BIOS

BOth my NUC and NNC have their CCs connected, I've tried Spawn in both, using the multi-BIOS it freezed on both.

And guys, you're welcome to read some earlier posts in this thread.

I understand it may be some sort of BIOS compatibility issue, maybe merging another version (perhaps some earlier version) of the naomi BIOS into that multi-pile will solve the problem.

are you sure this not related to I/O ? afaik some games wont work with no coin counters connected or spoofed.

Yeah, I'm sure. I had to spoof the 2nd coin counter on one of my cabs for Shikigami no Shiro II, but that was an error message that gets displayed, not a crash. The game pretty much tells you that it's refusing to boot because of it.

Anyway, it is much appreciated that you're looking into it. It's the only problem that I've found with the multi bios. Interesting that other capcom games like Heavy Metal Geomatrix (which uses the cabinet link feature like spawn does) work fine for me. Every other game I've played, be it original cart or netboot, works great with the multi. I greatly appreciate having it whether this can be fixed or not

I'd like to report an issue, if anybody else would care to confirm it. When I use the multi-region BIOS in my Naomi2, and I netboot 18 Wheeler, it loads and boots but after a short while in demo-play it freezes with a black screen.

If I start a game it will run about to where the map of USA is just before starting, and then freeze with the map picture still on screen.

So an hour ago I swapped back to the EPR-23608B IC and 18 Wheeler runs good, now for about an hour.

This issue regards only 18 Wheeler. I tested Virtua Fighter 4 and King of Route 66, and these games run fine under the Multi-region BIOS.

can confirm, 18 wheeler won't work with the Multibios.

I dont understand why you would want to use a multi region bios with a dedicated cabinet game unless you are swapping cabs or have a steering wheel rigged up to play on it. But to each their own

Hi, I have been using my naomi with the stock Japanese bios it came with. Games such as MvsC2, Puzzle Bubble or other appear in Japanese and it is a bit annoying. Whith this they will automatically show up in English? Is there any difference between the USA or Export versions?

Depends on the game, but most will yes.

Some minor diferences. USA will have age ratings before the attract screen.

Yeah i noticed my Japanese bios would load Virtua Tennis a usa version cart LOL none of my other carts worked this way funny.

I dont think i ever thanked the dude responsible for this but I have had a Multi bios for awhile its a joy to all . Great work!!

Found a problem today Witt my twin initial d 3. One has the original bios and one Naomi has the multi. After a player (master side) plays a single game , the race is mirrored as a live feed on the slave side. As soon as the race is over , the mobo with the mult freezes. Tried the latter and the other side jumps back into the attract mode like it should. I switched bios between the master and Slave side and the problem follows the mult bios. I was having a fit thinking my Naomi 2 board was crapping out just as I got the games both up and running no matter what settings I had the dip switches on , it would freeze or wouldn’t boot the game (with the multi bios)
