Reason two is that my cabinets came with Polo 28" monitors. The frames they came with were too large for the rotate mech fixings so the monitor has had to go into the cabinet without the monitor frame. This meant that I had to mount the chassis to where the PCB would be. Not good as wires were at full stretch.
The original monitor has no frame either, the chassis is mounted on the right side and it's a **** mess to get access to all the pots, you have to open up the whole upper unit to adjust the picture. Good thing bout the Polo monitors is that they have remote boards which can be extended (the Toei does not).
Fortunately the picture quality of the Toei is so awesome that it compensates all the trouble. :awe:

What was the actual original monitors in these?

Thanks for the picture. Now I see how the original chassis was mounted. I have those metal bits and was wondering how and where they fitted into the cabinet. Now I know.

I think I will stick to my shelf mount for the chassis. Its an improvement on the original!

Jep, they used either TOEI TC-RM281 (pictured) or Toei TC-HV28LM, both chassis use a A66JLH90X Toshiba tube.

You can't use a remote board with a Toei at all then no? Damn! I've a Toei TCRM25T in my SNK Candy and was hoping to hunt down a remote board for it.

Did some serious adjusting on the monitor a couple of weeks ago and it looks perfect now but christ, was it a slog! Down on the floor, make an adjustment, look in a mirror showing the monitor, back down to the floor - I've had lesser workouts in the gym! :D

Rich

You are welcome to mine anytime for a gaming session. Whilst you are there, I will get the tool kit out and you can help me with maintenance.
Seriously, I do need your help on remounting the Makvision chassis onto a shelf and tidying up the wiring.

As for the two new arrivals, you will have to come to Uckfield to see them. They are going into storage at work until I can get them powder coated. Once they are up and running, they are going into my office at work.

Evening pubjoe

I'll try to do an update to this thread at the weekend. Busy at the moment getting ready for "Arcade Flyers" books to arrive and be shipped...
