They must have fixed the crash issues pretty early with running it as 2X on a 2T board if that was fine in 2007 mind you.
Possibly. If I understand/remember correctly, phoenix ROMs which boot as either Japan or Etc region when set to "default" in the Phoenix Mini Menu should be glitch free.

This is my favorite game of all time, provided I have someone to play it with. Had the PS2 and two arcade sticks in first year in college and I played 3 hours a day. It was an absoute joy. I've never been that good at more complex inputs and combos so SF2 is perfect for me. I can learn how to do the cross ups and how the move priorities work.. anything beyond that like SF3 and I lose interest.

I've had a go at getting GPPO to work and whatever it is about my router is just doesn't work. With lag and stuff I doubt it'd be the same though. I'd rather play someone in real life. It's a shame you can't find anybody to play outside of London though. Last few times I was there on holiday I rolled down to Casino and played people for a couple of hours. Same thing in Singapore; people sitting on machines playing it all day. My idea of heaven. It's what the arcade experience is all about. I'd happily go down on a weekend and spend 20 euro for a few hours.

I could buy an arcade machine and a board but it'd be absolutely useless to me because I'd have nobody to play against.

What's the consensus on SSF2 Remix now that it's been out a few years? It's a shame it never got an arcade release, or an option to play the new balance with the old graphics. I'd say it would have been quite good. I'm a bit of a luddite so I haven't had a chance to play it yet. I must pick up a 2nd hand 360 or ps3 one of these days.

Chalk up another one to SSF2X fever, it seems the value of the board is spilling over into other memorabilia.

sf2thdremix = :awe:

i have been playing this in my new astro city since i got the ps360 pcb to interface the controls between the cab and the xbox360. i love it! it has its flaws.. zangeif and akuma are too over powered, but overall its a great fun experience on xbox360 online arcade, the competition is good, a range of good and brilliant players.

ggpo is good too.. but it seems everyone who plays there is sheng long himself, i can hardly win a round with some of those guys!

both ggpo and hdremix are the next best thing to having someone sat next to you. i fully understand and 100% agree that sf2 is nothing without playing a human oponent. i enjoy hdremix more then ggpo as you can have a room with up to 6 players, winner stays on! its like a queue at the arcade machine!!..everyone spectating, voice chat too, laughing, disucssing the fights, taking the ****, general hilarity in some rooms makes for a good evenings playing!

long gone are the noobs that d'loaded the game years ago when it came out- you know the ones that would spam moves constantly.. all that are left playing that game now are the fans, the old skool sf2 fans like you and me. i no longer get nasty messages and death threats from noobs calling me a scrub or cheap because i waste them using tricks and traps.. infact, i never hear any complaining about cheapness nowadays- all us sf2 old skoolers understand the philosophy of "if it's in the game, it's in the game" anything goes type attitude..fight to win (and humiliate too if possible lol). tick throws and crossups are fair game.. learn to block and reversal or get destroyed in a flurry of combos.. lol..

im sure you can tell im quite a fan, i cannot recommed hdremix enough.. sure it has flaws, but if you are a true sf2 fan, it is easy to look beyond the nuances and throughly enjoy a few hours of playing, socialising and learning new tricks and combos from players all over the globe in a pretty much lag free enviroment! hdremix's re-drawn graphics looks awesome on a candy cab monitor too with proper 4:3 support- (though im sure the haters will be along to disagree).

get youself hooked up, hopefully i'll see you online! :P

The screws used to seal up this cart are wood screws. Nobody is going to waste good wood screws on a bootleg, they'd just use cheap electronic screws instead.

I think that was to me. Looks like I bought at the right time.
Strange how prices can fluctuate by as much. Give it a while and the price will come back down no doubt.
