I know a couple of polish hookers that wear tight mini-skirts made of that!kernow wrote:I'm not entirely sure as I've never seen an original one. The guide said to get 'crushed velour' and thats what I got on ebay

It's not as 'furry' looking in person.

Re: Arcade Stool Resto
The only reason I ask is cos I got some in blue, it looks like a grannies dress from the 50's.
Does it go darker when you brush it one way?

Re: Arcade Stool Resto
I would have done this with some dark pink leather matching the EGRET II colours. Crushed velvet is of course more accurate, but having to brush it to loose those marks in the material would drive me crazy.

Re: Arcade Stool Resto
Here's a pic of my stool refurbishing.
New wooden board, foam, fabric and rubber feet.
Not really cleaned the chrome legs with polisher, just removed the grey spraypaint that was on them
I think the fabric is the same as it originally was, velour or something.

Here how they were when I got them,
broken wooden seat, decomposed fabric and foam.

Re: Arcade Stool Resto
When you sit on it, you don't see it anyway
And you did a good job restoring the stool, that's gotta be worth something.

Re: Arcade Stool Resto
Isn't it just hardwearing upholstery velvet on the originals?
Crushed velvet is for curtains and dresses

Re: Arcade Stool Resto
Although I reckon the crushed velvet might feel nicer against naked buttocks. I know we have some naked gamers here.

In which case it might have made sense to choose a colour which won't show up the skidmarks.
Seriously though, they look good. stop worrying about the material.

And if any sweeds need these you can find them on almost any Coop. Just find the shelf with nails, screws, lightbulbs, fuses and stuff like that.cools wrote:What size ferrules do I need to be buying?

Re: Arcade Stool Resto
Your stools have arrived haven't they? I would suggest accurately measuring the diameter of them and then getting ferrules 1mm or so smaller internal diameter for a nice snug fit.
