Two requests;

Armored Warriors, Euro 941024
Mighty! Pang, Euro 001010

Love these two and Leo has given us Japan versions already, but English versions would be great 8-)

I saw some games being fixed and released for the multiboard but not for the original game pcbs.

Any estimative of when the http://cps2.avalaunch.net/ website will be update with the new releases and the fixes?

I don't own a multiboard so I had them sent to IDC as mame ROMs.

Still you can easily extract the program rom 4MB file from the multiboard archive for a game you want and split it in 512KB chunks. That's what will go to the 03-10 EPROMs.

And hi there, man. Been a while. :awe:

I'll get to it soon, I'm currently juggling my real-life job, a two year old who's just discovered how to have temper tantrums and a new baby.

I've prioritised the updates for the Darksoft's multiboard as I had made him a promise and to be frank, he's done me a couple of favours. :fastlove:

I intend to give http://cps2.avalaunch.net/ a complete overhaul as soon as possible. At present, uploading ROM updates and amending the site is all done by hand. I'd like to implement some kind of content management/version control, as it will make things easier for everyone. It's just difficult to find the time to sit down and do it. :ryu:

Is the JP Super Street Fighter II X set missing a file for socket 9? It used to have this file but is not in the zip file now.

Tried the Puzz Loop 2 fix but it doesn't work. Only boots with a RAM check screen now. Noticed that someone else said the same before but there was no follow up after that.

Will try that one out and will have a serious look on your request. :awe:

Edit: I remember fixing Puzzlop2 for a person here and sending the fixed version for being put on the site, but I don't know if it was uploaded on the site.

You trying to use it on EPROM form or with the CPS2 multi?

Leo, if you send me the fixed Multi version I will make sure it gets placed on our site also.

Maybe it does. lol. My brain is scrambled lately. I guess maybe we updated the multi roms but never updated the eproms on the site?

If it does work properly in the Multi, it has the fixed ROM I gave idc years ago.

The Rockman rom, for example I fixed for mainman here in AO years ago (Cloudman fight crashing) but it was never uploaded to the site with the ROMs until another user complained of the same bug...

My suggestion is, take the file 02 from the CPS2 Multi set and split it in 512KB chunks. That's exactly what goes into the EPROMs. Compare that with what you have put on your eproms. If they match, then both are the same set and I will investigate it thoroughly.

Where can I find the multi file? Looking at the patch on the site, there are 4 files which require reprogramming but your reply implies only 2 are required?

Re: leonardoliveira & Idc's clean decrypted roms

Post by leonardoliveira »

Perhaps you misunderstood me...

Let me explain:

On the format used by CPS2 MULTI, all CPU ROM sockets (ROMS 03-10/8x512KB) are combined into a single 4MB file. That's "02" as used on CPS2 multi.

On a game which uses only four ROM sockets, there would be only 2MB of data so the file will have 0xFF from half until the end. The first half is the contents of the roms concatenated.

So if you pick a CPS2 multi download you can easily convert the roms back to usable format knowing that:

MULTI/CPS2 eproms
01 = 01/02
02 = 03/04/05/06/07/08/09/10
03 = 11
04 = 12
05 = 13
and so on ...

I mean that the file on the CPS2 Decryption effort site could be outdated and I suggested you pick a file meant to be used with the CPS2 multi game for the game you want, split it and check if it matches the one you already have.
