Re: Anime, what you watching? Comics, what you reading?
Mushi-shi is talky but its not lame. I cant tell you to watch it as it seems like you have your mind set on some violence which to be fair there has not been a really great violent anime in a while. One i watched which i really enjoyed which is quite gripping was Full metal alchemist its story driven but its gory in places sometimes dark but most of all keeps you watching.
Now there are two difrent things to watch there is
Full metal alchemist which is the first and second series and then there is a movie which comes in after these two seires. This is the one ive seen and it was great. even the movie which felt a little tagged on was fantastic and worth the watch.
The second is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood which is souposed to be a lot closer to the original comic series. I can't vouch for this as I promised to give myself a bit more time between series 1 /2 and Bros to stop myself compairing it to the other. It is getting rave reviews though.
I think one of the great things about this is it is quite new so you do get it in wide and your not left with the letterbox. The down side is if your looking for Ultra violence it is not fist of the north star (which if you dont know about it should should go google it and then smack yourself in the face for not knowing about it before now) which im guessing is where you want to be going.
Another one which is split down the middle with talky and action is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
This had both me and my friend hooked for months on this one. Its two seasons long and you can watch them and have a sense of completion. Its touching story but its also full of political back stabbing and **** loads of action. it also has mechs in it but the tech on the mechs is closer to say a not too distant future which i like a lot more than the current run of the mechs do all and save all which is kicking about.

Ya, I watched Fullmetal Alchemist years ago. It was pretty good; I might have to look into the newer series as well. I will add Code Geass to my list as well. And just to be clear, I don't necessarily mind shows with lots of talking/dialogue,its just that Speed Grapher should have been an action show, but instead it was the opposite; and it was annoying because the story was perfect for action!, so by the end of it I just wanted some mayhem for the next show we watched, which mushi-shi didn't seem to be from the first episode.

Just finished watching Code Geass and I must say this is the most awesome and addicting animes I have ever set my eyes upon
Had me hooked from start to finish, a must watch for everyone. The ending may or may not annoy you depending on your view on open endings.
I hear there is going to be more in the form of a side story called Code Geass Gaiden and is going to be centered around the Euro Universe

I am so happy to hear you enjoyed it. Everyone I have put on to this anime has said how good it is. I wont go in to the ending too much but i can talk about it by doing a spoiler slotMunchies wrote:Just finished watching Code Geass and I must say this is the most awesome and addicting animes I have ever set my eyes uponHad me hooked from start to finish, a must watch for everyone. Personally I loved the ending, it was a certainly a fitting end to a great anime
Though now I'm at a loss as to what I could replace it with

Just watched the first 2 episodes of 'Deadman Wonderland', it starts off promisingly enough & the lead character is quite interesting (in the superhuman badass sense)
I'm hoping it doesn't go all tame though, it's been ages since i saw anything great.
May have to just re-watch 'Tengen Toppa' again!

Time to drag this thread up again
. So who's ordered the Evangelion 2.22 BD coming out next week, or the Akira BD coming out at the end of the month?

Haven't ordered Evangelion yet...not even picked up 1.11 yetmegalomaniac wrote:Time to drag this thread up again. So who's ordered the Evangelion 2.22 BD coming out next week, or the Akira BD coming out at the end of the month?

I do have Akira on order but I already have the US version so if for any reason they have lost the Dolby True HD Jpn track for the UK release then it will quickly be going back up for sale & I'll just stick with my US release instead.
On other notes I'm currently reading World War Hulk Which is awesome & I've got the new DC Animated Green Lantern: Emerald Knights to watch this weekend
Also it's my birthday today so I might have some new Anime on DVD coming my way as well

On a comic buying tip at the moment & I'm not sure if anyone is aware (or cares for that matter
) but the demise of the DC Universe as we know it is upon us
I've just started picking up the Flashpoint series that see's the DC universe change forever & a fresh start in September with more or less every character getting a re-telling & everything starting at issue 1 again.
It's looking interesting.

Just bought Avenging Spider-Man #1 (to see what it's like) and you get a free digital copy.
If anyone wants the code to download, drop me a PM (I don't do digital).

Anybody watched Guilty Crown? (Thought I'd find something new while waiting for Naruto and Bleach were on fillers.) I watched episode 1 and 2. I face palmed so much that I ended up just gluing my hand to my face. Not recommended... Highly embarrassingly cliched and fanservi'ched.
Here is the culprit.. It's like waking up naked with a cucumber up your **** and a naked baby painted blue, strapped to your head in Piccadilly's Macky D's, at 12 noon.

I quite like the TV show (zombies are always good), but Robert Kirkman is horribly overrated.Johnno15 wrote:Although not a comic, I am reading walking dead rise of the governor which is well worth a read for any walking dead fans
And where is Image United?
Haunt? **** more like...
