Test fitted the Sanwa OOM-8 control panel. Vast improvement in comfort, so made up the wiring loom to adapt it (easily swappable with the existing CPs). Couldn't live with it in white, so one respray later... I think it's nice! The cab is at it's maximum height given the levellers and legs, and is great with either a 43cm or 48cm stool. Currently running The NewZealand Story, though I'm tempted to go with a MiSTer to use the extra button

Noticed that older cabs have quite darkly tinted glass or acrylic in front of the the monitor. It looks great, I'm guessing it's to improve contrast but it does mean the tubes are run at far higher brightness than they would be bare.

Rather than push the monitor hard, which in the case of TNZS in particular distorts its pixel black/white/black vertical lines, I've swapped the (scratched, anyway) acrylic out for some Perspex 901. Much better than the dark tint for this monitor, and much better than running it bare.

The Assault Suit Valken art really does look great in a frame.

What's the plan for the Blasts?

Nice! Must be fantastic being able to put on such events and seeing people enjoying playing your machines.

I had one of those 'everything must change!' moments in the middle of the night last night.

Was inspired to get a 1 slot with Metal Slug back into a machine after seeing Chris's collection.

Realised too that I've actually a bit of space left on my mounting board for a second PCB.

Out comes the board with Vendetta and all my MiSTercade stuff disconnected (moved the MiSTercade over to the Pony)

Moved back a bit and on goes a 1 slot. Can just flip the wooden board around the other way if I want to play Vendetta.

The A1200 likes to sit on a stool and watch :hinthint:

And we are now 'Slugged and ready to go.

Poor 1200 got cucked.

Also, that Candy 25 is gorgeous! Love the late 80's early 90s metal cabs!

Thanks lads, I'm back at trying to get my Metal Slug 1cc down. Used to be able to do it years ago but I'm a bit rusty now!

You know what, I've never actually sat down and tried to sort out that Candy marquee. It's pretty bloody dirty looking at it in that photo  full of bangs and scratches too.

I actually have some Polywatch I use for getting the scratches out of my acrylic watch crystals, might be an interesting to test it out and see if it clears this up too.

I shall give it a go and report back.

It’s my new grail!

I’m happy with the three cabs I have, and I’d like to keep them all for different reasons, but if I could find one exactly like this I’d happily give two up and pair it with my U4

I sold the Candy 25 to buy a Miele washing machine for my wife when she got pregnant and we moved to a new apartment.
I kept my Astros and NNCs because of the larger monitor, but I loved my Candy 25.

The U4/33 will by my grail for sure though ;)
