Can anyone recommend any decent priced hotels around central London, I have never stayed there before?

I can tell you of some **** holes under £45 a night, but recommend is tough. I'm currently looking for a room in a flat closer to work so hopefully I'll be settled before the 12th all I need to do is not go home, so if anyone is about on the Friday give me a shout.

the cheapo holiday inn / travel lodge etc will cost £60-ish at the weekend. It's mid week that's a killer in london.
