I gots me a nice 40 inch Sony Bravia LCD and teh picture is awesome. Did cost me £800 though...

Annoyingly, it has a "sticky pixel" and I have to turn it off and on once every few hours when it appears to get it to bugger off. Just bad luck I guess.

Just give it a good tick with let's say a stylus pen and hopefully it will disappear forever, there are also a software tool to fix stuck pixels ( links below ). And also you can press a stylus firmly on it, then turn of the monitor and keeping it firmly pressed, then turn on the TV again, that worked for me. Good luck!

Its a shame about the lack of monitor surround/housing.
Astro City is only a letter away from atrocity. Makes you think doesn’t it?

You can buy 32" LCD in metal cases, just drill holes to match the existing holes is one solution. These are lot tougher and robust for industrial use.. They cost a lot more though.

But using the universal mount, you can drop any 32" LCD from the shops on there, these are fine for home solutions.

sure , but i found two things that make me wonder a little , i`ll try to explain.

have a look here

Image

A.) seems very long , if you make it SD and you mount a screen you won`t be able to look at it directly , you will have to look up, cause the screen is too high.

B.) check the distance from the TV-monting plate to "B", it is rather short.

A) Original Sit-down versions are not the same height as Stand-At = between CP and screen.
So "chop-downs" are not 100% "originals".

That must be what has been bugging me about the standups. The screen to CP height is just wrong!

The coin/card entry area is also steeper than on the SD (obviously), as well as the CP actually not going as far back behind the monitor, so I don't think a workaround would be either practical, nor easy.

I guess when it comes down to it, there aren't as many standardized parts between the UR and the SD as one may expect (compared to the Naomi Uni at any rate).

The answer would be to ditch the origianl vesa mount and weld a vesa hight\tilt adjustable mount onto the frame which would solve the problem ?
Like this or a arm mount if you need more play.

I need to get a 32" LCD so I can find out the best place to mount the frame, as I can mount it lower etc.

I know people are worried about them not being 100% original to a sit-down, but they ain't going to be 100% original anyway.. All the metal work, artwork, control panels etc are UK made, only thing that is the same from the Japan unit is the following:

LCD Monitor Unit Assy, Speakers, Light plastic, Under CP lighting, IC boards, Marquee plastic.

Price on the LCD monitor (not the complete Assy is £4200) :?

That's absolutely mental for a 32" screen! :o

I'll be interested to see what people make of these cabs anyway!

I can get industry replacement doors for under £20.

So that's another problem solved.

Image

Just need a 32" LCD to demonstrate the different heights, can be higher/lower etc, but the biggest crux is the lack of front service lid unit :(

Well yes, LCA-2151UK, The UK bit is important, I am getting someone to measure there one from a Japan Lindbergh, but I know for a fact there is no spares available UK version, hence why they've been offered out as unfinished cabs.

Probably going to have to get them custom made then if the Japanese ones don't fit.
