Lolz  ... I hope that was intentional! But I also might invest in a large mirror wall it's much cheaper than a second Vewlix!

i want one too, there abit pricy tho 2000+ euro.

i think i will wait abit, i'm no retro player so i want a arcade screen that can run 1080p lag free with a PS4. so i hope there will be a good solution to either replace a vewlix screen, or maybe a new arcade will come out with this solution. :D

i guess so.

IPS Alpha Technology LTD
Panasonic Corp. has increased its ownership of IPS Alpha Technology, a manufacturer of large-sized LCDs based in Mobara, Chiba Prefecture, to 92% from 44.98% to securely position the company as the supplier of LCD panels for its LCD TVs.

IPS Alpha was originally a joint venture established by Hitachi, Panasonic (then Matsushita) and Toshiba in 2005. Panasonic (then Matsushita) purchased Toshiba's share in the company in March 2008, increasing its stake to 44.98%.

Before the deal on Wednesday, Hitachi Display, a Hitachi subsidiary, owned 50.02% of IPS Alpha's equity, but Panasonic had in practice been managing the company since April 2008 after it acquired Toshiba's share and invested 235 billion yen (US$2.3 billion*) in IPS Alpha's new Himeji fab. The Himeji fab started operation in April with a capacity of 405,000 panels (32-inch panels) per month using 8G glass substrates. The capacity will be ramped up to 810,000 panels by the end of March 2011, giving the Himeji fab the capability to supply almost ten million panels per year.

* Original figures are in Japanese yen. The exchange rate is roughly US$1=100 yen.

After the equity transfer, Hitachi will continue to own about 5% of the company.

IPS Alpha's first fab in Mobara has a capacity of 7.2 million units per year using 6G glass substrates.

The in-plane switching (IPS) mode LCD was first developed by Hitachi in 1996. In IPS mode, the liquid crystal molecules rotate parallel to the substrate when a voltage is applied, which realizes a wide viewing angle of 170 degrees horizontally and vertically. LG and certain other companies have also adopted IPS technology for their LCDs.

I imagine it is the best of the vewlix screens then, but IPS is generally considered to be much slower / higher input lag than TN.

It would be nice to see one in the flesh.

vewlix monitors for a home-built?
that would not be a wise decision, Taito will charge you about 1800€ for a replacement Screen. :palm:

The Sony KDL-42W655 (or 656) is basicly lag free (6ms/LB 15ms) and will set you back ~500€.

Sadly the 32" 655/656 is a bit slower with 16ms/LB 33ms.

I'm not a big fan of 42" monitors, i play Tekken tag tournament and pref. on 27-32" screens i got the benQ XL2720T for my on going arcade table. this monitor seems lag free (haven't tested) but i know the 24" from this series is lag free.

then again i have never tried 42" close up, but i'm just thinking it will be to massive a screen when u sit 50 cm from the screen lol.
