Re: exA-Arcadia
Wow! Thanks!
Any news on when we might be able to upgrade the limited exa systems to add the battery mod?

Re: exA-Arcadia
That's great! Thought for a second I'd have to buy the 1.5 so I could keep the old one like Daifukkatsu 1.0 -> 1.5

Re: exA-Arcadia
would be nice if the voice volume was separate, kind of like separate volumes for music, sound effects and voice

Re: exA-Arcadia
i've played the PC version enough to finish it, using the same music from the PC release is really nice, also like reusing the stages from the PC version and ditching all the crap weapons from the PC is a god-send

Re: exA-Arcadia
I'm very curious as to the situation with Earthion. It's still under development by Ancient, so are they making an ExA version simulatenously? Will it be different to the planned Mega Drive version? It looks like more than what the MD can handle, but I remember several elements from the video on the last page being present in Ancient's own footage of the game ostensibly running on the console, so... weird?

Re: exA-Arcadia
The port is developed by exA in house. It says as much on the title screen. It's an exA Label game, so it will have an exclusive arcade mode.
It looks like straight Megadrive emulation to me, but it's probably very early days. Would be neat if they revamped the game to run on more powerful hardware, like Fixeight.

Re: exA-Arcadia
Right, but that's also weird because the game isn't finished yet. Which makes the questions of how similar will they be, where/how will they diverge, etc a lot more interesting. Obviously unknowable to anyone here but Shou at this time, it's just that I can't think of another example where a game is in the middle of production while an external partner works on a port of that in-progress game to another platform along with potential upgrades/changes. If you're trying not to make a fork of the original product but a recognisable port of what it will be, that sounds like a unique challenge.

Re: exA-Arcadia
I'm not in gamedev, but this is far from unique in "non-gamedev", although i guess it depends on things on how practical merging the changes is. I'm guessing they know what they are doing else they would have done it differentlyDache wrote: November 26th, 2024, 9:23 pm Right, but that's also weird because the game isn't finished yet. Re: exA-Arcadia
Yeah, it's not impossible by any stretch with the right organisation and procedures in place. Interesting though. I'm sure it's happened before with internal teams within the same (or related) developers, it's the external relationship and the radically different platforms that made me wonder out loud about it. Every other re-release or ported title I can think of on ExA was an already-finished product AFAICR.
