I had a 962c Scalextric, though the Ferrari in the same set was an absolute monster that could barely corner without spinning off with lethal force.

My Dad threw all my loft-stored Scalextric away. He chucked it in a skip without telling me.
A lot of it was given to me from an older family friend and was from the early 70s!

Re: I received today...
I’d been looking for a second hand or NOS copy for a long time, but none were in great condition or reasonable price. Certainly never both.
In my search I found out there were reprints coming so hopped on a preorder in November and completely forgot about it.
Yesterday it just turned up!
Very nicely done. Dense pages of detailed writing. Pages and pages of illustration and sprites.
Four page fold out schematics and design mock ups.
Decent interviews with various important figures. :YuzoSwoon:
Very nice indeed.
I assume that this is the reason Bitmap Books were denied permission for their Mega Drive book, which is a huge shame.
This is a very different style and pace to the way BB do their books. I think there’s room for both without anyone losing out. If you’re nerdy enough to spend £60 on a book that goes this deep, you’re willing to spend another £60 on a second.

Gorgeous! Interesting to see they went with a different cover design for the reprint.
Far and away the greatest thing I ever got from kickstarter, hard to believe it was ten years ago. The fold out pages with the schematics are really special.
Edit - does the reprint have the benefactors listed in the back? Just remembered my name is in there somewhere. FAME!

Nooo, fame denied!
If I remember correctly, they were trying to get either a Saturn or a Dreamcast version off the ground a few years back but it never hit it's kickstarter numbers unfortunately. Would have been lovely to get a trilogy of all three systems.
