Sanwa JLX's & buttons from 2 different sources, Arcade Parts UK & the PiHut both excellent.
Much easier to get the direction plate off the bottom of the joystick now (or maybe its just me) I guess it only took a few mm here there to make it perfect.

After measuring, the visible area of the tube is only 17”.PrincessPrinPrin wrote: December 16th, 2024, 10:56 am The label also says it's a 21" tube. Is it really so?

That means it's a 18" tube (which has a 17" screen), in accordance with the picture seen here:Kamiboy wrote: December 18th, 2024, 5:36 pmAfter measuring, the visible area of the tube is only 17”.PrincessPrinPrin wrote: December 16th, 2024, 10:56 am The label also says it's a 21" tube. Re: I received today...
After trying my hand at adjusting the screen last night, it looks better, but still far from what I would consider acceptable.
The screen brightness fluctuates quite a bit depending on what is being displayed and I see some sort of a interference pattern in the background. Like thick jailbars, perhaps due to cross talk of some sort?
Also I am having a tough time adjusting the colors, it is difficult without a reference image to compare to. I constantly think one colour might be set too high or low.
Overall the image gets quite dim when I try to adjust brightness to make the blacks appropriately dark.
I wonder if the issue is with the tube or chassis. In addition the horizontal width control does not seem to work and for the life of me I cannot find any contrast adjustment pot anywhere.
Also, I have com to appreciate how easy and convenient it is to adjust my Blast City Nanao screen from game to game using the front controls.
With a display area as small as 17” it really would be nice to adjust every game to make the most of the screen space, which is not viable when the pots are screwed behind a metal plate at the back of the cabinet.
If I knew the tube would be compatible I would see about getting a quality arcade chassis to swap in for the one I got. Especially one that has adjustable pots on a remote board.
I am researching a potential audio upgrade for the time being. Though, some games sound ok and some others sound subpar.

Re: I received today...
Post yoke readings (inductance or at least resistance) and neck/CRT socket type.

Re: I received today...
I can measure the resistances, but have no idea how. Which wires colours on the yoke should I measure resistances between?

Re: I received today...
That's a minineck Toshiba tube.
The pins where the wires are soldered to on the yoke are numbered. Unplug the yoke connector from the chassis and measure resistance across 1 (grey) and 5 (blue). That's the horizontal coil and will have a lower resistance. Across 2 (white) and 4 (green) you have the vertical coil with higher resistance. For a more accurate reading, short the meter leads with each other and if there's some parasitic resistance (ideally it should be zero) subtract it from the yoke readings.
I think it would be a good idea to make a dedicated thread for this or even for the whole repro Cute cab as it would help people decide if they want one too or not.

Re: I received today...
Although Namco's design of the oem CP for the Noir is dull as dishwater I still wanted to get a 2L12B just to make it complete:
It arrived today @7am just in time for xmas as it was 3c in the games room I had to build it up in the kitchen quick time before the boy woke up.

Very much a want rather than a need.
