Can someone explain why anyone would spend that amount when there are cheaper and better ways to play those titles? Is it just that the Zero port is super rare and it comes with all of the boxes?

I guess, but that's not different than most games you see on the marketplace here or in this thread.

Likely 3-4 years ago?
Personally, I bought Boogie Wings from Welink for $75 in 2012.
It's not a great game. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't actually play games.

I remember the old owner of JAMMA+ not being able to shift a boogie wings for ages for £100, how times have changed.

What an idiot. If he'd just kept that money he could've bought a complete CAVE collection.

I wouldn't mind if PCB prices shot up fivefold in 35 years (3-bedroom house 300k?). The problem here is it's happening in a matter of a few years.
viewtopic.php?p=552395#p552395 , 650 euros, from earlier this year
Go three years back and I'm 100% sure you can find examples of it being half that.

Also, Boogie Wings was the last, bugfixed release of the game (v1.7). If you have TGRS, you have an inferior version.

Noone cares if the game is inferior, it just has to be rare/expensive.

I'd like to know what the gameplay differences are on Boogie Wings (if there are any).

"A collectable is any object regarded as being of value or interest to a collector."
Boogie wings is boogie wings.

http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/boogie-wings/
"There is no real difference between World and Japan versions, outside of the translation of dialogues and instructions in English, and the modification of the opening graphics to accommodate the new title. Even the voice yelling “The Great Ragtime Show!” was left in Boogie Wings, although only over the intermissions between levels and not in the title sequence."
Can't find any other reliable source regarding the region differences.
